Description
Fitts is the alias of Sylphiette, a half-elf, half-beast hybrid who serves as the personal guardian mage to Princess Ariel Anemoi Asura in the second season. Fitts is not an entirely separate character but the identity Sylphiette adopts after being separated from her childhood friend, Rudeus Greyrat, during the magical calamity known as the Mana Disaster. Displaced from her home in the Fittoa region, she is transported to the royal palace of the Asura Kingdom, where her sudden arrival inadvertently saves Princess Ariel from a rampaging magical beast. In this event, Sylphiette overuses her mana, causing her distinctive green hair to turn permanently white. Recognizing her exceptional magical talent, Princess Ariel takes her into her service, giving her the name Fitz and the role of a silent guardian, to help conceal her identity and gender, as a female warrior would be less respected among the Asuran nobility. As Fitts, she wears dark sunglasses and adopts a reticent demeanor to better protect the princess and navigate the treacherous political landscape of the royal court.

The personality of Fitts is a direct contrast to the private and vulnerable nature of Sylphiette. In her public role, Fitts is famously known as the Silent Fitts due to her strict, quiet, and serious disposition. She rarely speaks while on duty, maintaining a professional and almost stoic facade to avoid drawing unwanted attention and to fulfill her duties as a bodyguard effectively. This silence is a professional choice, a mask she wears to survive the dangerous political environment of Asura. The real Sylphiette, who only Rudeus and occasionally Princess Ariel and Luke get to see, remains shy, kind, and deeply caring. Her affection for Rudeus has never faded, and she shows a more playful, blushing, and vulnerable side in his presence, one that is capable of great joy and deep loneliness. Her core motivation is twofold. Primarily, she is fiercely loyal to Princess Ariel, who saved her and gave her a purpose, and she works to protect her and help her ascend the throne. However, her deepest, most personal motivation is her enduring love for Rudeus. After years of separation, she is driven by a powerful desire to be reunited with him and to finally be by his side again.

Fitts plays a central role in the second season's story as a major supporting character and the eventual love interest for Rudeus. When Princess Ariel enrolls at the Ranoa University of Magic to gain political power and intelligence, Fitts accompanies her as a fellow student and her guardian. It is here that Rudeus, also now a student, arrives, suffering from psychological impotence caused by the trauma of his last parting. Fitts is assigned to administer Rudeus's entrance examination, a sparring match that he easily wins. Despite her hopes, Rudeus does not recognize her, having believed she died in the disaster. Throughout his time at the university, Fitts works in the shadows to help and protect him, clearing up misunderstandings and joining his research into summoning magic with another student named Nanahoshi. It is her quiet care, support, and the emotional connection they re-forge that slowly begins to heal Rudeus's psychological wounds, eventually leading him to realize he has fallen in love with Fitts, whom he still believes to be a young man. Her most pivotal act is curing his impotence inadvertently through a moment of physical closeness, which sets the stage for the eventual revelation of her true identity and the rekindling of their relationship.

Key relationships define Fitts's character. Her relationship with Princess Ariel is one of profound loyalty and deep friendship. Ariel is her benefactor and confidante, and the princess often teases Fitts about her feelings for Rudeus. The relationship with Luke, Ariel's other guardian, is that of a comrade-in-arms. While they serve together, Fitts is often the more competent and level-headed of the two. The most significant relationship is, of course, with Rudeus Greyrat. He is her first and only love, and their bond, originally formed in childhood when he saved her from bullies and taught her magic, remains the emotional core of her character arc throughout the second season. Her development from the first season to the second is substantial. As a child, Sylphiette was a shy, lonely, and bullied girl who hid from the world. After the teleportation incident, she is thrust into a violent political world and is forced to become the Silent Fitts, a composed and capable guardian. This experience forges her into a confident and powerful mage. Upon reuniting with Rudeus, she struggles with the desire to reveal herself against the need to maintain her cover for Princess Ariel's sake, leading to internal turmoil. Her arc culminates in her decision to openly embrace her identity as Sylphiette and her love for Rudeus, leading to their eventual marriage.

Fitts is a highly adept and formidable mage, regarded as one of the most powerful of her time. Her most notable ability is the use of voiceless incantation, a rare and advanced technique she learned directly from Rudeus as a child, allowing her to cast spells instantly and without warning. She is proficient in all major schools of magic, having achieved Advanced-level in Fire, Earth, Wind, Healing, and Detoxification magic, and possesses a Saint-level proficiency in Water magic, her specialty. She is also capable of casting Disruption Magic, a rare spell that can nullify an opponent's magical abilities, making her particularly dangerous in mage duels. Her magical power is such that even a significant mana strain, which turned her hair white, did not cripple her abilities. In combat, she is fast, agile, and precise, capable of repelling elite assassins and protecting her charge from multiple threats. She also uses enchanted gear, including her trademark sunglasses, a wand given to her by Rudeus, and speed-enhancing footwear, which augment her natural combat abilities.
