Description
The character known as the Lady of the Cats, Akubi, is a genie who resides inside a vase or bottle. She is summoned into the human world whenever a specific individual yawns. Upon appearing, she is compelled to grant a wish for the person who yawned, though she often does so mischievously, resulting in unintended or problematic outcomes.

Akubi is the daughter of another genie, Hakushon Daimaō, and both reside within the same bottle. Her father is summoned by a sneeze instead of a yawn. Her background involves a long history within the bottle, being discovered by different humans across generations. In one story, the bottle is found by an elementary school student named Kan. Fifty years later, Akubi forms a connection with Kantarō, Kan's grandson.

In the narrative *Yobarete Tobidete! Akubi-chan*, Akubi befriends a shy young girl named Koron Nemuta. Koron has a habitual yawn that occurs when she becomes embarrassed, which consequently summons Akubi to grant her a wish. A subsequent narrative, *Akubi Girl*, sees Akubi befriending a first-grade student named Ruru-chan. Akubi’s primary role is to use her magic to help Ruru-chan become close friends with a boy named Itoshi-kun, on whom Ruru-chan has a secret crush. Her methods involve various forms of magic, often activated by tapping a tambourine, though these attempts typically end in failure.

The character also appears in the crossover anime film *Pandora to Akubi*, which features a narrative combining elements from *The Genie Family* and *Monster Strike*.
