In her earliest appearances, she is energetic, cheerful, and headstrong, sharing an exceptionally close bond with her older sister. When her sister begins dating Narumi Takayuki, Akane develops warm feelings for him, seeing him as an older brother figure. After a tragic car accident leaves Haruka in a coma, Akane discovers that Mitsuki and Takayuki have started a romantic relationship, transforming her admiration into intense hatred as she perceives a profound betrayal. In Operation Sledgehammer, she demonstrates remarkable skill by piloting a Shiranui Second through a BETA Hive’s Main Shaft to provide critical fire support to isolated allied forces.
