Description
The entity known as the Magic Mirror is the vessel for the consciousness of a woman named Miranjo. Her past is marked by profound tragedy, beginning in the Magic Kingdom of Houma, where her father was killed in battle by the future King Bosse. After her homeland fell, she sought refuge with her mother in the country of Gyakza. There, they were betrayed; her mother was murdered, and a young Miranjo was subjected to horrific mutilation, losing the skin on her face and her hands before being left to die as a public spectacle. Rescued and healed by Bosse with the help of a powerful sorcerer, she became fiercely devoted to him, walking a dark path to support his ambition of becoming the strongest king.

Personality-wise, Miranjo is highly intelligent, strategic, and driven by an intense, obsessive devotion. Her early kindness was warped by the betrayals and suffering she endured, transforming her into someone willing to employ any means necessary to achieve her goals. Despite her cunning and manipulative nature, she is capable of deep love and, later, genuine regret and reflection on her actions. She serves as a primary antagonist, manipulating events from within the mirror to resurrect King Bosse. Following his death, she focuses her efforts on Prince Daida, offering him counsel to steer his choices toward her ultimate ambition: using Daida's body as a vessel for Bosse's revival. She also orchestrates schemes such as an assassination attempt on Queen Hiling to eliminate obstacles.

Her most significant relationship is with King Bosse, her savior and obsession, to whom she devoted her entire existence. She was instrumental in his rise to power, introducing him to Bojji's mother and even orchestrating her murder out of jealousy and a desire to keep Bosse focused on his goals. After her soul is bound to the mirror, she manipulates Prince Daida, who later, after learning the truth of her past while imprisoned in a dark void, comes to understand her and ultimately wishes for her resurrection, becoming her husband. She also holds a key relationship with Apeas, one of the kingdom's Four Heavenly Kings, who feels he owes her everything for the training and encouragement that transformed him from a timid youth into a master spearman.

Miranjo's development is a central arc, moving from a tragic victim to a vengeful mastermind and finally toward redemption. Confronted by the kindness of Prince Bojji and the pleas of her mother and Shiina in the afterlife, she realizes the self-serving nature of her actions and regrets her path. When the mirror is broken, her soul is initially consumed by the demon who housed her, but through the combined efforts of the underworld kings and Daida's selfless wish, she is granted a second life. Fully restored to a physical body, she accepts Daida's proposal, vowing to move beyond vengeance and become a teacher to children, choosing a life of purpose and hope.

Regarding her notable abilities, as a spirit trapped within the magic mirror, Miranjo can communicate telepathically, offering advice and manipulating individuals from a distance. During her life, she was an extremely powerful sorceress, adept in strategy and subterfuge. She used her magical knowledge to orchestrate complex plots, including the ritual to revive Bosse. The mirror itself was a gift from Bosse to Daida, and it is through this object that she exerts her influence, positioning herself as a wise consultant while concealing her true, darker intentions. While the spin-off series Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage features side stories that expand upon the main narrative, detailed information regarding the Magic Mirror's specific or altered role within this particular collection of episodes is not available.
