Description
The character known as Corretora de Imóveis, or the Realtor, from Transformers: Age of Extinction is a minor human character whose full name is Mary Jo McGatlin. She works as a real estate agent for Lamar Associates in the town of Taylor, Texas, and is also known locally by the nickname the Purple People Eater. Her role in the story is brief but serves to establish the difficult financial and personal circumstances of the protagonist, Cade Yeager, before the main plot begins.

In her single scene, Mary Jo McGatlin arrives at Cade Yeager's farmhouse with a couple who are prospective tenants. Her personality is direct, no-nonsense, and assertive, as she is simply trying to do her job in a frustrating situation. Her primary motivation is professional: to show the property to potential renters, as Cade is significantly behind on his mortgage payments. She confronts Cade directly, reminding him that he is six months late on his payments and accusing him of stealing electricity, showing a willingness to state unpleasant facts plainly.

When Cade responds to her presence not with payment but by brandishing a baseball bat and making violent threats toward her clients, Mary Jo does not back down in fear. Instead, she and her clients retreat to her car, but she makes a threat of her own, promising to send her brother, Jerry, to rough Cade up. This reveals a key relationship in her life, suggesting she relies on her brother, described as not very fit, as a source of physical intimidation. Cade finds the prospect of Jerry confronting him amusing, indicating that Mary Jo's threat is perhaps more bluster than genuine danger.

The character does not undergo any development, as she appears in only one scene and does not return after her confrontation with Cade. Her role in the story is functional: to highlight Cade Yeager's desperate, anti-authoritarian, and volatile state of mind at the beginning of the film before his discovery of Optimus Prime changes his life. Her notable abilities are essentially those of her profession, being persistent and unfazed by an angry delinquent homeowner. She drives away across Cade's lawn after the failed showing, demonstrating a final act of petty revenge and frustration.
