Description
Dokeen, known in the original Japanese version as Dokin-chan, is the primary partner of the villain Baikinman and serves as a secondary antagonist within the Anpanman franchise. In the film Eiga Soreike! Anpanman Fuwafuwa Fuwari to Kumo no Kuni, she plays a significant role in the story's central events. Her character is visually distinct, appearing as an orange-red germ-like or alien entity with a white face, green eyes, a small red nose, pink shoes, a single antenna on her head, and a long, demon-like tail.
In terms of personality, Dokeen is typically selfish, demanding, childish, and greedy, often bossing Baikinman around and ordering him to fetch her food or various items. Despite her role as a troublemaker, she is not purely evil and sometimes displays a hidden kind heart. During confrontations with the heroes, such as Anpanman, she is often the first to retreat when a fight turns against her group. One of her most defining motivations is her obsessive romantic crush on the hero Shokupanman, which drives her to extreme lengths to try and win his affection, including keeping a room filled with his posters and plush toys.
In the film Fuwafuwa Fuwari to Kumo no Kuni, Dokeen’s role is central to the plot. The story involves Cloud Country, a place that distributes clouds to create rain and rainbows for flowers and plants across various towns and stars. After a cloud baby from this country encounters Baikinman and his friends, Dokeen takes an active part in the events. She is the one who gives the cloud child the name Fuwari, and she quickly develops a significant bond with the growing infant. Her key relationships in the franchise are well-defined. Her dynamic with Baikinman is complex; while she is often rude and commanding towards him, she retains an underlying care for her partner. Her love for Shokupanman remains a powerful, if misguided, force in her life. Dokeen also has a younger sister named Kokin-chan, with whom she shares a typical sibling relationship that includes both camaraderie and rivalry, especially over Shokupanman's attention.
Regarding her abilities and equipment, Dokeen pilots a long, pink UFO that she uses for transportation and, occasionally, for holding hostages to assist in Baikinman's schemes. In the past, she wielded a special double-pointed staff that could enlarge or shrink objects, although this tool was used less frequently over time and has since been dropped from the series. Her character develops primarily through her interactions with others, as her selfish nature is occasionally tempered by moments of unexpected kindness or cooperation, such as her strong attachment to the cloud child Fuwari in this film.
