Description
Limur, more commonly known as Rimuru Tempest, is the central protagonist of the story. Originally a 37-year-old human named Satoru Mikami, he was fatally stabbed while protecting a colleague and reincarnated in a fantasy world as a slime, one of the weakest monsters. Retaining his past-life memories and personality, he quickly adapted to his new form using his unique skills, Predator and Great Sage.
Limur's background begins in a dark cave where he meets Veldora, the Storm Dragon sealed for 300 years. The two form a close friendship, and Limur names Veldora, receiving the surname Tempest in return, which also grants him a share of Veldora's power through a soul corridor. This bond shapes much of his early journey.
Personality-wise, Limur is generally easygoing, pragmatic, and curious. He has a strong sense of justice and a pacifist nature, preferring to avoid unnecessary conflict and seeking coexistence between monsters and humans. However, he can become ruthlessly decisive when his friends or nation are threatened. He often displays anxiety about his own abilities and insecurities about his identity, fearing rejection if his human origins were known. He is also naive in political matters, sometimes trusting others too readily, but he learns to be more shrewd and calculating through experience.
His primary motivation is to build a safe, peaceful world where all races can live together. This drives him to establish the Jura Tempest Federation, a nation for monsters, and to pursue diplomatic relations with human kingdoms. He also seeks to protect and empower those he considers family, including his many subordinates.
