TV-Series
Description
Misery is a female demon who belongs to the primordial lineage, known specifically as the Primordial Green, or Vert. She is the fourth oldest among the seven primordial demons and serves as a demon duke and maid under the demon lord Guy Crimson. Her physical appearance is notable for long, curly green hair and green eyes, and she typically wears a dark red maid outfit complemented by green fingerless gloves.

Her background traces back to the earliest era of existence. Misery once allied with the primordial Rain to challenge Guy Crimson, but the pair were defeated with their spirit cores shattered, after which they swore loyalty to him. When Guy was summoned into the material plane, he called both Rain and Misery, granting them physical bodies and ordering them to destroy the nation that had summoned him. After they completed the task, Guy observed the suffering of their victims and chose the name Misery for her, reflecting that misery.

Personality wise, Misery is calm, analytical, and level headed compared to many of her fellow primordials. She possesses strong situational awareness and does not engage in battles she cannot win. For example, when she was summoned by the Green Apostles during a council meeting and encountered the primordial Testarossa, she quickly assessed her opponent’s strength and chose to retreat without fighting, avoiding an unnecessary confrontation. Her demeanor is that of a diligent and capable subordinate who performs her duties without complaint.

Misery’s primary motivation is her unwavering loyalty to Guy Crimson. She carries out his orders without deviation, whether they involve administrative tasks, information gathering, or acting as a messenger. She also takes pride in her role as a maid, handling chores, culinary tasks, and even artistic services to meet Guy’s standards.

In the overall story, Misery appears as a supporting figure within Guy Crimson’s domain. She facilitates events such as the summoning of the demon lords for the Walpurgis banquet and later acts as a guide for other demon lords. She is also responsible for managing a private network of spies and informants, which she uses to collect intelligence for Guy. Her presence underscores the hierarchy among the primordials and the long standing power structure established by Guy.

Key relationships include her bond with Rain, her fellow maid and primordial, with whom she works closely. Both serve Guy together and often share duties. She also has a wary but professional relationship with Testarossa, who is a more battle hardened primordial. Her relationship with her own followers, the Green Apostles, is one of a deity to its worshippers, though she does not share their zeal.

Development across the series is modest but meaningful. While initially shown as a background figure, she eventually participates in more significant events, such as facing enemy angels. She later receives assistance from Rimuru Tempest’s forces to undergo a demon lord awakening, which allows her to grow stronger. This progression reflects her capacity to adapt and evolve even after aeons of existence.

Notable abilities stem from her status as a primordial demon lord. She possesses immense magical power, though specific unique or ultimate skills are not publicly detailed. She has the ability to be summoned and physically incarnated by her followers. Her combat experience is limited due to her long stint in domestic service, but she remains a formidable force when necessary, capable of holding her own against mid tier opponents. Her true strength, however, lies in her strategic mind, her information network, and her absolute dedication to her master.
