Description
Spirito di Pipibau, called Gipple in other regions, is a wind spirit accompanying the main protagonists on their journey. He serves as a magical guide and provides logistical support, though he frequently vanishes at the first hint of danger or conflict.

His physical manifestation is a small, vaguely humanoid creature hidden beneath a cloak. This cloak can expand to form a portable tent for shelter and also functions as storage; items are placed inside his body through unconventional means. Under the cloak, he wears a traditional fundoshi (loincloth), a detail that sometimes causes others discomfort.

As a wind spirit, he possesses elemental air abilities, but these are seldom demonstrated in combat. His primary functions involve aiding the protagonists with navigation and managing their inventory. He exhibits a clear aversion to emotional or dramatic interactions, actively disrupting heartfelt moments he deems overly sentimental.

Gipple appears consistently across multiple adaptations, including the original 1994 anime, the 1996 film, the 2000 series *Doki Doki Densetsu Mahōjin Guru Guru*, and the 2017 reboot. His character traits and role remain largely consistent throughout these versions, maintaining his signature cowardice and utility as a support figure.

No significant character development or background expansion occurs in spin-offs or other media. His origins as a wind spirit are not elaborated upon, and his interactions remain confined to situational comedy and functional assistance.
