Description
Gin Akutagawa is a member of the Port Mafia in Yokohama, serving as one of the commanders of the organization's elite paramilitary unit, the Black Lizard. She is the younger sister of Ryunosuke Akutagawa, and the two siblings are each other's only remaining family.
Gin and her brother grew up in a harsh and poorly managed orphanage in the slums with several other children. After the group overheard information about a Port Mafia operation, the mafia killed the other children in retaliation. Only Gin and Ryunosuke escaped with their lives, a feat made possible in part by Gin's quick thinking. Following this event, Ryunosuke was recruited into the Port Mafia by Osamu Dazai, and Gin joined as well, eventually rising through the ranks to become a commander.
In her role within the Port Mafia, Gin presents a formidable and nearly silent presence. She typically wears a mask that covers the lower half of her face, leaving only her eyes visible, which almost always carry a serious expression. This attire, combined with her quiet demeanor, often leads others to mistakenly assume she is male.
