Description
Hokuto Ijuuin is a 20-year-old idol from Kyoto, known for being the oldest member of the unit Jupiter. Standing at 180 centimeters tall with a birthday on February 14th, he presents a charming and elegant image that fits his self-assured and somewhat flirty personality.
Hokuto comes from a musically inclined family, with a father who is a violinist, a mother who teaches piano, and a sister who plays the flute. As a child, he showed great talent on the piano, but a tendon injury sustained in high school ended his prospects of becoming a professional pianist. He retains some ability, notably the skill of playing Der Flohwalzer at a high tempo. During his college years, he joined the tennis club and later worked as a model before being scouted for the entertainment industry.
Initially a member of the rival agency 961 Production as part of Jupiter, Hokuto was disillusioned by the company's unethical methods. Taking on a leadership role due to his experience, he initiated discussions with the president of 315 Production, leading Jupiter to defect and join the agency. In the series Wake Atte Mini, he continues to appear as a member of Jupiter at 315 Production. In one instance, he and fellow unit member Shouta Mitarai encounter the new group Legenders. He warns them about the dance room and invites them for tea, later bonding with Chris Koron over their shared appreciation for the beach.
Early in his career, Hokuto cultivated a persona as a flirty prince, using the signature greeting Ciao☆ and referring exclusively to his female supporters as Angel-chans. He once unsuccessfully pursued fellow idols Makoto Kikuchi and Azusa Miura. However, beneath this superficial exterior lies a mature, intelligent, and genuinely kind individual.
