Description
Judit, known as Bea in English-language versions, is a recurring character in Pokémon Journeys: The Series. She is a Pokémon Gym Leader from the Galar region who specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon. Her home is in Stow-on-Side, also known as Pueblo Ladera.

Judit is the daughter of a prominent karate master in Galar. Since childhood, she has trained intensively in this martial art, and a flashback in the anime shows her practicing hard as a young girl. This strict upbringing and her dedication to training led her to develop a stoic and disciplined demeanor, rarely displaying strong emotions. In battle, she is a brilliant strategist who remains calm even in the most intense situations.

On the surface, Judit appears cold, confident, and direct, sometimes to the point of being blunt. She initially did not remember Ash's name, referring to him instead as the Trainer of Riolu. Despite this stern exterior, she has a softer side, most notably a strong fondness for sweets, which she enjoys eating with her Pokémon.

Her primary motivation is to become the strongest Trainer in the world. A key part of this goal is to defeat Leon, the Champion of Galar, in the World Coronation Series. This ambition establishes her as a direct rival to Ash.

In the story, Judit serves as a significant rival and recurring opponent for Ash throughout his journey in the World Coronation Series. Her first appearance is not in Galar but in Saffron City, where she visits the local Karate Dojo. She easily defeats the master’s Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan using only her Grapploct, demonstrating her exceptional skill.

Her relationship with Ash begins when he challenges her to a battle. She defeats him decisively, breaking his winning streak. This loss motivates Ash to seek a rematch. Their rivalry deepens over a series of battles. Their first rematch ends in a draw, and it is during this meeting that she states her goal to defeat Leon before Ash does. Their final and most significant battle is a full three-on-three match. In this intense fight, Ash’s Lucario, having achieved Mega Evolution, defeats her Gigantamax Machamp, giving Ash his first victory over her. After this hard-fought battle, Judit's demeanor thaws considerably. She admits she enjoyed the fight, begins addressing Ash by his name, and tells him he may do the same with her, solidifying their mutual respect as rivals.

Throughout the series, Judit demonstrates considerable development. She grows from a reserved, distant fighter who does not bother to remember her opponents' names to someone who acknowledges a specific Trainer as her equal and rival. Her love of battling and appreciation for a powerful opponent becomes more visible over time.

As a Fighting-type specialist, Judit is a formidable Trainer with notable abilities. She is highly strategic in battle and uses martial arts stances when commanding her Pokémon. Her known Pokémon include a powerful Grapploct, which serves as her signature Pokémon, a swift Hawlucha, a nimble Hitmontop, and a Machamp capable of Gigantamaxing to become enormous and more powerful.
