Talhand, also known as Talhand The Clifftop, is a dwarf from "Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation." He possesses a short stature and a distinctive long orange beard split into two sections by dark bracers, extending below his waist. He consistently wears dark armor, gauntlets, and a helmet over a white robe. Born the 37th of 51 siblings in a communal Dwarf Village upbringing, Talhand shared an exceptionally close bond with his younger brother Godbard. To support Godbard's ambition to become the next Ore God, Talhand deliberately studied Water and Wind Magic—disciplines shunned by dwarves favoring Earth and Fire Magic. This choice, combined with rejecting traditional dwarven blacksmithing methods, branded him a maverick. His devotion to Godbard deepened into romantic love. However, after Godbard rejected him following a blacksmithing competition loss and ascension to Ore God, a deeply embittered Talhand fled the village during the succession ceremony, unable to trust others. He became a solo adventurer, rising to Rank B. His distrust stemming from Godbard's betrayal and his attraction to men complicated party dynamics. He adopted the Magic Knight role, relying on heavy armor for defense due to low agility. He occasionally partnered with Elinalise Dragonroad, whose combat prowess complemented his magic, though he found her romantic advances irritating. Their association solidified when Paul Greyrat formed the "Fang of the Black Wolf" party, uniting Talhand with Elinalise, Ghislaine Dedoldia, and Geese Nukadia. After the teleportation catastrophe scattered Paul's family, Talhand joined Paul, Elinalise, and Roxy Migurdia to search for survivors. He later entered the Teleportation Labyrinth with Paul to rescue Paul's wife Zenith. During the battle against a Manatite Hydra, Talhand served as a tank, shielding allies while coordinating with Roxy. Settling in Millishion post-adventures, Talhand focused on blacksmithing. Starting with basic dwarf-level skills, he innovated by integrating his knowledge of wind, earth, fire, and water magic. His experience-informed equipment designs gained popularity, securing sponsorship from the Rude Mercenary Company. He established his own shop and later returned to the Dwarf Village to reconcile with Godbard. Using a sword forged from rare black ore created by Rudeus as leverage, he negotiated peace. The ore intrigued Godbard, who agreed to join the ORSTED Corporation in exchange for a substantial quantity. Talhand commands intermediate Earth Magic and elementary Fire, Water, and Wind Magic. His dwarf heritage grants natural affinity for Earth and Fire Magic, while his Water and Wind training remains an act of defiance. He is immune to succubus charms. In combat, he wields an axe-like wand and relies on heavy armor for protection. Personality-wise, Talhand retains typical dwarven appreciation for rock, iron, and alcohol, but his stubborn nonconformity distinguishes him. Despite initial distrust, he exhibits fierce loyalty to those he respects, evident in his dedication to Paul's missions. He openly acknowledges his romantic preference for men, stating: "I take men only."
