Description
High Elf Archer is a high-ranking Silver-ranked adventurer and a member of the party often assembled to accompany Goblin Slayer. As a high elf, she hails from an ancient and noble lineage, being the daughter of the elf chieftain and known as the Daughter of Starwind. Despite her considerable age of over two thousand years, she has the youthful appearance and spirited demeanor of someone much younger, which often leads to a contrast between her long life and her relatively naive outlook on the wider world.

Her personality is lively, curious, and hot-tempered. She is filled with a boundless enthusiasm for exploration and discovery, having left the safety of her forest home specifically to seek out the true adventures she had dreamed about since hearing tales of other elves who ventured out into the world. This desire for grand quests involving treasure and lost kingdoms is a core part of her character, and she often tries to steer the party toward such experiences. However, this eagerness clashes with the grim reality of her party's frequent assignments. Initially, she is horrified and disgusted by Goblin Slayer’s ruthless and pragmatic methods of extermination, as well as his singular obsession with hunting goblins. She argues against his tactics, which include the use of fire, water, poison, and explosions, preferring what she considers a more honorable and adventurous approach.

More than anything, High Elf Archer wants to show Goblin Slayer what a real adventure is like, one full of wonder and discovery rather than just nightmares and butchery. She frequently uses this desire as a bargaining chip, asking for such an expedition as her reward for helping with a goblin-hunting quest. Over time, her perspective begins to shift. While she still despises the grisly work, she comes to deeply respect Goblin Slayer’s effectiveness, his unshakeable focus, and his hidden reliability. Their relationship is defined by constant bickering and exasperation on her part, especially since she is often compared unfavorably to more well-endowed women and teased about her flat chest; the Dwarf Shaman frequently calls her Anvil, an insult that never fails to provoke her fiery temper. Despite this, a bond of profound trust develops between them, with her often being the first to leap to his defense against the rumors and slander of other adventurers. She affectionately refers to him as Orcbolg, which means Goblin Slayer in the elven tongue.

Her role within the party is that of a scout and a rangy, high-mobility attacker. Her keen senses, particularly her exceptional eyesight and hearing, make her invaluable for reconnaissance and detecting traps and ambushes. As an archer, her skill is near-legendary; she is capable of feats such as firing multiple arrows at once, curving their trajectory in flight, and even shooting down two wyverns with a single arrow. Her primary weapon is a great bow made from forest materials, strung with spider silk and capable of immense power, but she has also learned to carry a short bow for use in confined spaces like sewers—a practical concession influenced by Goblin Slayer’s philosophy. She is also remarkably agile, able to scale trees and dodge attacks with acrobatic flips. While not a front-line fighter, she carries a dirk or small knife for self-defense in close quarters.

Her development throughout the story involves a gradual reconciliation between her idealistic love for adventure and the ugly necessities of her chosen profession. She learns that not all monsters can be reasoned with and that Goblin Slayer’s uncompromising methods stem from a deep and necessary understanding of the threat. A significant moment in her personal journey occurs when the party travels to her homeland, the elf forest, for her sister's wedding. Here, her hidden status as elven royalty is revealed, and she shows a more vulnerable and thoughtful side, contemplating the nature of her bond with her mortal companions, including her clear unspoken affection for Goblin Slayer, knowing she will likely outlive them all. Despite this, she reaffirms her commitment to her friends and her path as an adventurer, solidifying her place not just as a member of the party, but as the heart of its wonder and spirit.
