Description
Mito Kuroki is a supporting character in the anime Train to the End of the World who emerges as an unexpected authority figure in the post-7G landscape. Following the catastrophic activation of the experimental 7G network that warped reality across Japan, Mito initially found herself fleeing from the hordes of zombies that appeared. Through an undisclosed method, she discovered how to command the zombies and eventually became their leader, styling herself as the Zombie Queen. To blend in with her undead subjects, she wears blue makeup and disguises herself as a zombie, an appearance that also helps her move safely among them.
Her motivation centers on protecting the survivors who have taken refuge near Mount Buko. She treats the zombies not as monsters but as a kind of family or loyal servants, and she is deeply attached to her role as their caretaker. When the main character Shizuru Chikura and her friends offer to give Mito a ride to Ikebukuro, she declines, having decided that her place is with the zombies. This decision reflects her personal development: rather than seeking to return to a normal life, she has embraced her new identity and responsibilities in the transformed world.
In the story, Mito acts as an ally to Shizuru’s group, providing assistance when they cross her territory. Her key relationships are with the zombies under her command and with the survivors she guards. Her notable ability is her capacity to control the zombies, a power she acquired after the 7G incident. She does not display any overt combat skills, but her queen‑like authority makes her a key figure in the region. Mito's backstory is largely implied rather than explicitly detailed, but her journey from a frightened survivor to a confident leader of the undead defines her role in the narrative.
