Description
The Director of the Takahara Academy is Kaminaka Shino, a woman of advanced age who appears frail and is typically seen in a wheelchair. Despite her elderly and seemingly helpless appearance, the Director is a manipulative and deeply sinister figure whose ambitions drive much of the hidden tragedy at the academy. Her true nature is concealed behind a facade of a benevolent and gentle caretaker, making her eventual reveal as a primary antagonist all the more impactful.
The Director’s primary motivation is an obsession with immortality and a desire to witness the advent of a new world, which she refers to as Heaven blossoming. She believes in a prophecy involving the Spear of Heaven, an apocalyptic event that would allow her and the academy’s enhanced children to emerge and establish a new world order. To achieve this goal and overcome her failing body, she has forsaken any ethical boundaries. Her plan is to transplant her own brain into a younger, healthy vessel to prolong her life indefinitely. Initially, she sets her sights on the newborn child of the students Tokio and Kona, and she later intends to transfer her mind into her much younger assistant, the Deputy Director Aoshima, as a trial run for the procedure.
