Description
Yasuo Nanbu is a crew member of the Yamato who serves as the ship’s chief gunner. He comes from a family of industrialists; he is the heir to Nanbu Heavy Industries, a major munitions company that produced the Yamato’s main artillery and the Cosmo Gun. Despite his family’s expectations for him to take over the business, he chose to join the military and was selected for the Yamato Plan over his parents’ objections. Hailing from Tokyo, he holds the rank of lieutenant junior grade (second-grade space lieutenant) in the original series and its remakes.
Nanbu is a competent and dedicated officer, responsible for managing the performance of the ship’s cannons, missiles, and other weapons to support tactical operations.
