Description
In the 2011 film OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders, Kamen Rider #2 is portrayed as one of the two original Kamen Riders, serving as a main hero alongside Kamen Rider #1, Kamen Rider Den-O, and Kamen Rider OOO in a story that celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Kamen Rider franchise. As the second of the two original transforming heroes, he is characterized by his physical power and his unyielding commitment to justice. In this alternate timeline story, his background as a celebrated defender of humanity is subverted when Shocker, the evil organization, manages to take over the world. After a newly created monster called the Shocker Greeed defeats both him and Kamen Rider #1, the two are captured and brainwashed into becoming elite soldiers for Shocker. In this state, they are forced to fight against other Kamen Riders, including Kamen Rider OOO and New Den-O, showcasing a tragic fall from grace for the original heroes.
Despite this brainwashing, Kamen Rider #2’s core personality remains that of a noble and powerful warrior. His true motivations are rooted in protecting innocent people and upholding justice, which ultimately allows him to break free from Shocker's control. When a young boy named Naoki, who had traveled back in time, is put in danger, the inherent sense of righteousness within Kamen Rider #2 and Kamen Rider #1 is reawakened. This moment of clarity leads them to rebel against their captors, demonstrating that their heroic spirit cannot be completely erased. Their role in the story shifts from antagonists serving evil to key leaders in the final battle against Shocker's Great Leader.
Key relationships are central to his role in the film. His primary bond is with Kamen Rider #1, with the two functioning as an inseparable team in both their brainwashed state and as redeemed heroes. Their partnership is legendary, and they fight together seamlessly. A crucial relationship is also formed with the boy Naoki, whose courage inspires them to remember their true purpose. Later, after a Shocker scientist, who is revealed to be an older version of Naoki, undoes their brainwashing, they fight alongside a legion of other Kamen Riders. Kamen Rider #2’s development throughout the film is therefore a journey from a controlled pawn of evil back to a symbol of justice. He begins as a powerful obstacle for the main characters, but through an act of selflessness from a child, he reclaims his identity and leads the charge against Shocker, culminating in a moment where all the Riders unite for the "All-Rider Break" to destroy the colossal Great Leader. His notable abilities include his incredible physical strength, often described as representing the "power" aspect in contrast to Kamen Rider #1's "technique". His signature move is the Rider Kick, and his most powerful attack is performed in conjunction with his partner, the Double Rider Kick, which they use to devastating effect against their enemies.
