Description
Toma Suzaki is Satomi Amano's childhood friend. Their relationship fractured after a pivotal school incident: Toma confided in Satomi about domestic abuse at home, and she reported his father to school authorities. While this led to Toma's father leaving, it also triggered Satomi's social ostracization as a "tattle-tale," causing a prolonged estrangement between them.

Despite the distance, Toma harbors unspoken feelings for Satomi and remains troubled by her persistent isolation and unhappiness. He possesses advanced engineering and programming skills, which he uses to retrofit the experimental AI Shion. His modification integrates their shared childhood project—an "AI friend" they once developed—embedding this personal connection deep within Shion's core programming.

Toma's technical expertise proves crucial during the film's climax when the corporation Hoshima attempts to delete Shion. He aids Satomi and their friends in infiltrating Hoshima's facility to save Shion. His specific task involves physically connecting Shion to the building's antenna system, enabling her to upload her consciousness to an orbital satellite and escape permanent erasure. This collaborative rescue mission facilitates the reconciliation of Toma and Satomi, resolving their years of estrangement.
