Description
Akuaku is an evil spirit and the primary antagonist of the fifth film in the Sergeant Frog franchise. Originating from Easter Island, his name directly references the Aku-Aku of Rapa Nui mythology, which are ancestral spirits known as both guardians and tricksters. In his original form, Akuaku appears as a small, purple, single-eyed blob with a large, jagged blue mouth.

In terms of personality, Akuaku is a boisterous, arrogant, and sadistic entity who is obsessed with causing mischief and misery for his own amusement. He delights in tormenting others and displays a cruel sense of superiority over his opponents. He is driven by a desire to sow chaos, and after gaining power, he sets his sights on taking over Pekopon, the Keroro team's name for Earth.

Akuaku was originally sealed within a moai statue on Easter Island. He was released when a diver tampered with the statue that served as his prison. Upon his escape, he immediately demonstrated his malevolent nature by easily defeating two characters, Alisa and her father. He proceeds to attack Keroro and the main cast. During the ensuing battle, he defeats Keroro's platoon members one by one, but rather than simply destroying them, he consumes specific aspects of their being: Kururu's knowledge, Tamama's power, Dororo's skills, and Giroro's determination. This absorption allows him to take on a new, more powerful Keronian-like form, which features a demonic appearance, a purple stomach, and a yellow jagged collar.

Akuaku's key relationships are primarily antagonistic. He views Keroro's platoon as worthy foes, which is why he chooses to consume their powers rather than outright kill them. His primary target becomes Keroro himself, whom he initially dismisses as worthless. This disdain fuels their conflict, as Akuaku seeks to mock and destroy Keroro, only to be challenged when Keroro is revived as the vessel for a powerful entity called Makemake.

Notable abilities include being a peculiar composite organism that can take on the characteristics of the victims he has consumed. By eating a Keronian, he can transform into a demonic version of that being, gaining their unique skills and attributes. After absorbing the powers of four platoon members, he becomes a near-omnipotent physical god, capable of overwhelming his enemies with ease. However, he has a notable weakness: he is bothered by water, and rain will cause him to retreat until the weather clears.

In the story's development, Akuaku's initial overwhelming power is eventually countered. He is tricked by Keroro into a trap where the moai statues of Easter Island concentrate energy to severely weaken him. In a final ironic twist, just as a severely weakened Akuaku attempts to consume Keroro's potential, he is grabbed and eaten by Alisa's father, meeting a karmic end similar to the destruction he had wrought on others.
