Description
Masuzo Dinerales is the main antagonist of the eighteenth Crayon Shin-chan film, set in a dystopian future twenty years after the present day. He is the founder and president of Kaneari Organic Electronics, a corporation that grew into an energy monopoly after a large meteorite struck Earth and caused a permanent impact winter, blocking out the sun. In the ensuing power vacuum, Dinerales used his control over energy supplies to consolidate political and economic authority, becoming the de facto dictator of Japan and ruling the futuristic city of Neotokio with an iron fist. He forcibly shut down all competing businesses, including the firm where Hiroshi Nohara worked, leading to the Nohara family's decline into poverty and physical deterioration. Dinerales is driven by an insatiable desire for absolute power and control. He cannot tolerate defiance or insubordination, which is why he develops a deep hatred for the adult Shinnosuke Nohara, who openly quits his job at Kaneari Electric because he does not enjoy working under Dinerales. Unaccustomed to anyone challenging his authority, Dinerales retaliates by using a special beam to bio-coat the adult Shinnosuke into a stone statue, effectively petrifying him. He then attempts to force his daughter, Tamiko Kaneari, to marry his assistant—the adult version of Kazama—threatening to destroy the petrified Shinnosuke if she refuses. Dinerales views Tamiko not as a beloved child but as a tool to be used in his plans, showing a cold, transactional attitude toward his own family. Throughout the film, he relies on advanced technology, including a giant robot, and commands a corps of bridal-themed enforcers to maintain his control. Despite his power, Dinerales is ultimately outsmarted by the combined efforts of the five-year-old Shinnosuke, his friends, and his own daughter. When Tamiko defies him at her wedding, he triggers an explosion on the pedestal holding the stone statue, but the adult Shinnosuke survives and later combines his special energy with that of his younger self to disperse the dust layer covering the sky, ending the impact winter. With the restoration of sunlight, Dinerales loses his monopoly on energy and his grip on power. He is subsequently arrested by the adult Himawari Nohara, who is revealed to be a police officer, on charges of kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and other offenses. Masuzo Dinerales serves as a satirical representation of corporate greed and authoritarian control, typical of the Crayon Shin-chan movie series, and his downfall reinforces the theme that individual freedom and genuine human connection triumph over oppressive systems.
