Description
In the Transformers: Dark of the Moon film, the character known as Amp is the same character officially named Roadbuster. The name Amp in the film's credits refers to the primary sponsor logo, AMP Energy, displayed on his vehicle mode. He is a member of an elite Autobot subgroup called the Wreckers.

Roadbuster, or Amp, transforms into a NASCAR Sprint Cup Chevrolet Impala stock car, specifically the number 88 car associated with driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr., which features National Guard and Amp Energy drink sponsorship decals. His physical robot design incorporates distinctive visual cues that make him resemble a stereotypical NASCAR fan, including what appears to be a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a goatee.

In terms of personality, Roadbuster is characterized as a quiet and unassuming individual who is not a big talker and does not consider himself a genius. However, these traits are balanced by a powerful will and a dogged, tenacious nature that ensures he always completes his assigned tasks. His preferred activities away from combat include working in his workshop, where he hammers out new armor pieces and constructs powerful weaponry for the Wreckers, as well as spending time on the race track pushing his engine to its limits alongside his human companion, Sergeant Recon.

The character's primary motivation appears to be the mission of bashing Decepticons and supporting the Autobot cause through his engineering skills and combat prowess. His role in the story of Dark of the Moon sees him arriving on Earth with the second wave of Autobots aboard the ship Xantium. When the Autobots are ordered into exile by Sentinel Prime, Roadbuster and the other Wreckers prepare the ship for launch and appear to be aboard when it is destroyed by Starscream. This is later revealed to be a feigned death, as the Autobots were not actually on the ship. Following this deception, Roadbuster and the Wreckers immediately engage the Decepticons in Chicago, executing a downed Decepticon pilot and using their armored race car forms to create a distraction for the enemy forces. They also participate in the rescue of Optimus Prime from crane cables.

Roadbuster has key relationships with his fellow Wreckers, Leadfoot and Topspin, as well as his human ally Sergeant Recon. He is also an engineer, a trait that pays homage to the character Scotty from the original Star Trek series, complete with a Scottish accent. His notable abilities include his skills as a weapons engineer and his tenacity in battle. His alternate mode is a fully equipped NASCAR racer, and his personal armament includes a spring-loaded blaster that features flip-out chainsaw blades. Information regarding a specific character arc or personal development for this character throughout the film is not present.
