Description
Kiryu Ryoko is a character from the Japanese manga and anime series Kami no Shizuku. She is a young woman with an attractive appearance and medium-long black hair.

Ryoko serves as the attorney responsible for managing the estate of the renowned wine critic Yutaka Kanzaki. Her primary role is to act as the impartial executor and overseer of the unique competition outlined in his will. Following Yutaka's death, it is Ryoko who contacts his estranged son, Shizuku Kanzaki, to inform him of the passing and to introduce the terms of the inheritance.

Her central function in the story is to preside over the contest between Shuzuku and the adopted son and rival, Issei Tomine. She, often alongside Robert Doi, arbitrates the duels as the two competitors attempt to identify the twelve wines known as the Apostles and the ultimate wine, the Drops of God. In this capacity, she is the custodian of the secret list containing the names of the twelve Apostles.

In her professional role, Ryoko demonstrates a composed and serious demeanor, befitting her legal responsibilities. Her motivations are rooted in ensuring the test is carried out fairly and precisely according to the late wine critic's final wishes. She is a figure of authority in the contest, possessing knowledge that neither competitor has, which places her in a unique position as both a witness and an arbiter.

Ryoko is not merely a passive observer. She also takes an active interest in the wines being judged. During the first test held at Yutaka's house, she participated in the blind tasting alongside Shizuku and Issei. She offered her own assessment of the wine, though her conclusion was swiftly and professionally corrected by Issei, who pointed out the flaw in her reasoning that led her to mistake a matured wine for a younger one. She gracefully accepts the correction, acknowledging the validity of his superior analysis.

Her relationship with the two primary competitors is defined by her neutrality. She interacts with both Shizuku and Issei formally, as the executor of a legal document. Her key relationship is arguably with the late Yutaka Kanzaki himself, as she is entrusted with the secrets of his will and demonstrates loyalty to his posthumous plan. Her role as the sole individual who knows the identity of the twelve wines marks her as the gatekeeper of the entire competition's objective. Ryoko's notable abilities include her legal expertise in inheritance matters and a fundamental, though not master-level, knowledge of wine tasting. Her primary power lies not in competition but in her authoritative oversight of the contest's rules and mysteries.
