Description
Natsumi Hikari is a young woman who works at the Hikari Photo Studio alongside her grandfather, Eijiro Hikari, having lived with him since childhood. Prior to the events of the story, she was a member of the Taigaku Club, a group of students who briefly dropped out of school out of boredom but eventually returned. Her role begins when she experiences recurring nightmares about a figure known as Decade, and soon after she discovers the DecaDriver and Ride Booker, which she gives to Tsukasa Kadoya. Witnessing his transformation into Kamen Rider Decade, she chooses to accompany him on his journey through parallel worlds, motivated by a desire to prevent the destruction she saw in her dreams.

Natsumi is grounded and caring, often acting as a moral anchor for the group. She frequently uses the Hikari Family Secret Technique known as the Laughing Pressure Point to keep Tsukasa in line, a method that forces uncontrollable laughter and is also used on others like Yusuke Onodera and her grandfather. Despite Tsukasa’s often abrasive personality, she shows a deep concern for his well-being, and there are hints of romantic affection in her interactions with him. She refuses an offer from Narutaki that would have removed her from the journey, choosing instead to see it through to the end. However, as the journey progresses, she begins to doubt the purpose of their travels after hearing that Decade’s actions might actually be destroying worlds, leading to internal conflict.

Her key relationships include Tsukasa, with whom she shares a close and complex bond; her grandfather Eijiro, who runs the studio; Daiki Kaito, who affectionately calls her Natsumelon; and Yusuke Onodera, a fellow traveler. She also interacts with Narutaki, who tries to turn her against Tsukasa. Natsumi’s development culminates in the film Kamen Rider Decade: The Last Story, where she obtains the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Kiva-la, using a Kiva-la device to gain Rider powers. In this form, she plays a pivotal role in stopping a rampaging Tsukasa. Her notable abilities are limited in her civilian form to the Laughing Pressure Point, but as Kiva-la she gains the combat capabilities of a Kamen Rider, including flight and energy-based attacks. Throughout the series, she evolves from a passive observer into an active participant in the conflict, eventually becoming a Rider herself.
