Description
Chinomanako is an antagonist from the World of Shinkenger, a realm visited within the narrative of Kamen Rider Decade. He is an Ayakashi, a type of malevolent spirit serving the Gedoshu, whose purpose is to cause chaos in the human world to swell the banks of the Sanzu River, a spiritual boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead. His name roughly translates to Thousand Eyes, a reference to his physical design which is inspired by the Mokumokuren, a creature from Japanese mythology covered in numerous eyes.

The creature's physical form is notable for being covered in countless eyeballs. In his base state, he stands 198 centimeters tall and weighs 95 kilograms. His primary natural ability is superhuman strength and the power to detach the eyeballs on his body to be used as explosive projectiles.

Chinomanako is dispatched by his superior, Shitari of the Bones, to investigate the sudden appearance of Kamen Riders, beings previously unknown in his world. He is thrust into the conflict when he observes a confrontation between Kamen Rider Diend and Shinken Gold. Seizing the opportunity, Chinomanako ambushes Diend and successfully steals his transformation device, the Diendriver, along with his collection of Rider Cards.

Upon acquiring the Diendriver, the power corrupts his being. He learns to use the device and transforms into a state known as Chinomanako Diend Formation. In this form, his height increases to 207 centimeters and his weight to 138 kilograms. This transformation grants him abilities far beyond those of a standard Ayakashi. Most significantly, it liberates him from the primary weakness of his kind, as he no longer needs to periodically return to the Sanzu River to rehydrate his body, allowing him to remain in the human world indefinitely. He gains enhanced physical parameters, including a punching power of 6 tons, a kicking power of 8 tons, a maximum jump height of 30 meters, and the ability to run 100 meters in 5 seconds.

In this corrupted Rider state, Chinomanako becomes a monstrous and distorted version of Kamen Rider Diend. He can use the Diendriver to summon waves of Nanashi foot soldiers from the gaps in his armor. Furthermore, he wields the Rider Cards with malicious creativity, using Monster Ride cards to summon creatures like the Eagle Undead and Moose Fangire, and a Kamen Ride card to transform himself into a twisted version of Diend. He also uses a Kamen Ride card to summon Kamen Rider Blade and force him to fight under his control. His corruption affects the weapon as well; the energy blasts he fires from the Diendriver take the form of violet energy eyeballs instead of the standard green energy cards. Narutaki, a mysterious figure who opposes Decade, identifies Chinomanako Diend as the first and last Kamen Rider to originate in the World of Shinkenger, calling him an aberration born from the destabilization of the worlds.

Chinomanakos primary role is as a disruptive force and a physical threat that the heroes must unite to defeat. He serves as a common enemy for Kamen Riders Decade and Diend, as well as the Shinkengers. His actions force a temporary alliance between these often-competing groups. Daiki Kaito, Kamen Rider Diend, is his direct foil, as Chinomanako wields his stolen power against him, making its recovery a personal objective. For Tsukasa Kadoya, Kamen Rider Decade, Chinomanako represents another dangerous anomaly created by the merging worlds that he is partly blamed for, pushing him to continue his journey despite the condemnation of characters like Narutaki.

Although Chinomanako does not undergo a deep personal transformation, his arc follows the trajectory of a villain acquiring power beyond his natural limits. He starts as a reconnaissance agent but quickly escalates into a major crisis upon stealing the Diendriver. His defeat comes not from the standard method of destroying an Ayakashi, which would normally allow for a giant-sized second life, but from a combined Finisher Attack Ride card used by Decade and Shinken Red. By using the power of Blade King Form and transforming the summoned Kamen Rider Blade into the Blade Blade, Decade combines his attack with Shinken Reds Rekka Daizantou. This combined assault utterly destroys Chinomanako, and it is believed that assuming his Diend Formation consumed his second life, preventing him from growing to giant size and leading to his final destruction.

Beyond his appearance in the Kamen Rider Decade two-part story The Arrival of the Samurai Sentai and Heretic Rider, Go Forth!, Chinomanako reappears as a member of the Dai Zangyack army in the crossover film Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen. He is also part of an army of resurrected monsters in Kamen Rider × Super Sentai × Space Sheriff: Super Hero Taisen Z, where he is ultimately destroyed alongside other villains by the combined forces of the heroes.
