Daimyo Oscura, also identified as Masako Hojo, serves as the primary antagonist. An elderly woman with long white hair, dark skin, and a thin physique, she remains bound within a web at Azuchi Castle. Her personality is defined by an insatiable hunger for power and a deep fear of death. Having lived for centuries, she exhibits extreme ruthlessness, showing no regard for human life and willingly sacrificing subordinates to extend her existence or gain greater power. Her origins trace back to the Hojo clan, a noble lineage from the Kamakura shogunate. Over centuries, she merged with Azuchi Castle through dark magic, feeding on the land's energy to sustain her life. This act transformed the castle into both her stronghold and prison. Her prolonged existence disrupted natural balance, causing perpetual storms with purple-tinted clouds over her domain. She commands supernatural abilities derived from centuries of dark magic. These include transformation into a giant six-legged monster with overwhelming physical strength; astral projection to manipulate the Astral Plane for telepathic communication, inducing pain, leeching magic, and creating voids; power bestowal and leeching, enhancing subordinates like Kurosaka and Mitsuhide only to reclaim these gifts later, causing rapid aging and death; illusion casting, creating potent hallucinations such as making Yasuke perceive her as Nobunaga Oda and Saki as herself; web manipulation, telepathically controlling webbing throughout Azuchi Castle for surveillance and transportation; energy projection, firing destructive purple energy blasts and generating force fields; and weather manipulation, spontaneously spawning massive storm systems through her presence. Her story begins with orchestrating the assault on Honno-ji Temple, leading the Dark Army to defeat Nobunaga Oda and seize control of Japan. After two decades of rule, she senses Saki's emergence as a magical counterbalance to her power. She dispatches enforcers like Kurosaka to capture Saki, viewing the child’s abilities as key to rejuvenating her own life force for another century. When initial efforts fail, she uses Mitsuhide as a conduit to infiltrate Saki’s mind within the Astral Plane, attempting direct absorption of her magic. Saki resists with Morisuke’s guidance, temporarily repelling the intrusion. Later, as Yasuke and Saki approach Azuchi Castle, she subjects Yasuke to debilitating illusions, making him perceive Saki as an enemy. She also morphs her army into a colossal monster to assault Morisuke’s temple. In the final confrontation, she battles Yasuke and Saki in her monstrous form, overpowering them initially and killing Yasuke. As she absorbs Saki’s magic, Saki awakens her full potential, effortlessly defeating her. Stripped of power and reduced to a weakened state, she implores Yasuke to kill her, but he refuses, leaving her fate to the people she oppressed. This character appears solely in the main series.
