Description
Layla is a minor character who appears in the Pokémon film Giratina & the Sky Warrior. She is a young woman traveling by train with her husband, Moose, to visit her great-grandmother on the occasion of her hundredth birthday. As a gift, Layla carries a bouquet of Gracidea flowers, which she explains are traditionally given as an expression of gratitude. During the train journey, she and Moose encounter Ash, Dawn, Brock, and the small Pokémon Shaymin. Layla is immediately charmed by Shaymin and observes that the Pokémon resembles a living bouquet of Gracideas. Her kind and gentle demeanor is evident as she interacts with the group and shows warmth toward Shaymin. When Shaymin comes into contact with the Gracidea flowers, it transforms into its Sky Forme, a moment that Layla witnesses with wonder. Her role in the story is brief but meaningful: she provides key information about the cultural significance of Gracidea flowers and offers a moment of connection and understanding between the human characters and Shaymin. Layla has no notable special abilities and does not undergo any personal development within the film. Her primary motivation is to honor her great-grandmother with a heartfelt gift, and her relationship with her husband Moose is portrayed as supportive and affectionate. Her brief appearance underscores themes of gratitude and the importance of family bonds.
