Description
Masayuki Wada, who performs under the stage name Alexander Jagi, is a supporting character in Detroit Metal City. He is a bassist and occasional vocalist for the death metal band DMC. Hailing from Saitama, he is portrayed as a ladies' man who is secretly dissatisfied with his role in the band. His true aspiration is to leave DMC and perform in a visual kei band, citing groups like LArc-en-Ciel or X Japan as his preferred style. However, he is too intimidated by the bands formidable manager to pursue this goal independently, and it is suggested that he may never have wanted to be in DMC in the first place. His fear of the manager is so pronounced that he also appears to harbor a slight crush on her. Wada often evades responsibility for his actions, using lines such as Its not my fault or I didnt do anything. Throughout the story, he remains a consistent figure: a talented but reluctant band member whose desire to quit is constantly outweighed by his cowardice. His primary role is as a bass player, providing musical support for the bands chaotic performances. His relationship with the protagonist, Soichi Negishi, is that of a bandmate, and he occasionally provokes Negishi or deflects blame onto him. Wada shows little personal development, as he never manages to break free from the band. His notable abilities include competent bass playing and secondary vocal duties on stage.
