Description
Chizuru Naba, also known as Chizu-nee, is student number 21 in Mahora Academy's Class 3-A. She has brown hair, brown or blue eyes depending on the depiction, and stands 172 cm tall with a distinctive mole under her left eye. Her figure is notably the most developed in the class, which is a recurring physical trait.

Chizuru is defined by a gentle, motherly, and deeply caring personality. She volunteers at the Mahora Day Care Center and harbors a long-term dream of becoming a nursery school teacher, reflecting her nurturing instincts and exceptional domestic skills, which include cooking. Despite her warm and often loving demeanor, she has a lesser-known capacity to be profoundly intimidating and fearless when the situation demands it. She dislikes loneliness and long-distance relationships, preferring the close company of her friends. She is also a member of the school's Astronomy Club.

Her primary motivation throughout the story is the care and protection of those she considers family. Chizuru does not play a major role in the early narrative but becomes significant during the Golden Week arc. After finding an injured dog by the roadside, she takes it in, unaware that it is actually Kotaro Inugami, a young half-demon boy searching for Negi Springfield. Upon discovering his true nature, she immediately adopts him into her care. When the powerful demon Graf Hermann attacks Kotaro, Chizuru demonstrates immense courage by calmly confronting the demon and slapping him as he attempts to petrify the boy, an act that leads to her temporary kidnapping. This event solidifies her role as Kotaro's fierce protector and primary caregiver, a role she maintains by having him live in her dormitory under the guise of her roommate Natsumi Murakami's younger brother. Kotaro develops a mixture of deep affection and absolute terror toward her, once rating her 400 points out of pure fear.

Chizuru shares a dormitory room with Ayaka Yukihiro and Natsumi Murakami. Her bond with Ayaka is particularly deep, rooted in the revelation that her family, the Naba Heavy Industries, is just as wealthy as Ayaka's own family. In later story arcs, she acts alongside Ayaka in an undisclosed but significant capacity to assist Negi. She is also noted by the creator to share many similarities with the character Mutsumi Otohime from his earlier work, Love Hina.

Her development sees her transition from a background student into a key supporting figure, particularly in the Magic World arc. She becomes a driving force in the implementation of Project Blue Mars as a proxy representative of her family's industrial conglomerate. In the final chapters of the manga, Chizuru forms a Pactio contract with Negi, gaining the title Servator Stellarum. Her artifact is the Negi Scepter, a magical spring onion. When applied to a target, it cures all status ailments but also compels the target to obey her commands; while resistance is possible through willpower, the command becomes harder to resist each time it is issued. After the resolution of the main conflict, she pursues her career as a nursery school teacher while continuing her involvement in major reconstruction projects and doting on the daughters of the Narutaki sisters.
