Description
Sadao Maō, born Satan Jacob, emerged from a low-ranking goblin tribe within the Demon World’s harsh hierarchy. Through ruthless determination and calculated alliances, he conquered fractured demon clans, crowning himself Demon King. His invasion of Ente Isla, motivated by demonkind’s survival, sought to harness negative emotions as an energy substitute for fading demonic forces. Ambiguous directives to followers inadvertently caused catastrophic collateral damage, cementing his image as a tyrant despite efforts to limit harm.

In true form, he towers over three meters with crimson eyes, greenish-black hair, curved horns, clawed hands, goat-like legs, and membranous wings. Stranded on a depowered Earth, he adopts an unassuming human guise—average height, crimson-eyed with jet-black hair—often wearing fast-food uniforms or casual attire. Partial shifts preserve human size while manifesting claws or hooves, often shredding garments in the process.

Initially pragmatic, his Earthly exile reshapes his worldview. He cultivates work ethic and empathy, mastering fast-food service while analyzing human economics to restructure demonic society. Though retaining strategic ambitions, he channels regained powers toward rectifying subordinates’ mistakes rather than conquest, valuing accountability over expansion.

Hostility with Emi Yusa, his former nemesis, gradually softens into wary collaboration after jointly caring for Alas Ramus, a divine-energy child. His bond with Chiho Sasaki, a human coworker, blossoms into romance, leading to a committed engagement by the story’s end. His partnership with general-turned-roommate Ashiya persists, blending military pragmatism with domestic compromises.

Hidden history reveals tutelage under Emi’s archangel mother, whose teachings fueled his demonic unification. Later merging with Acieth Alla, another divine fragment, grants him power to liberate allies from celestial captivity. The Ente Isla campaign, rooted in flawed energy calculations, fuels his Earth-borne remorse and determination to merge demonic preservation with ethical rule.

The saga concludes with him voluntarily shedding his demonic essence to embrace mortality, finalizing his transition into human society. This renunciation underscores his redemption arc, contrasting past conquests with a quiet life prioritizing coexistence over dominion.
