Description
Kenta Ikegami is a central character in the series, serving as a representative second-year student at Arama Middle School. He is a boy who occupies a significant portion of the story alongside the title character. His nickname is Kenta-kun.

Kenta is defined by a mischievous and prank-loving personality, which is the driving force behind most of his actions. He is notorious for playing various kinds of naughty pranks on his homeroom teacher, Machiko Mai, which often involve attempts to expose her underwear or breasts. These pranks extend to his female classmates as well, including girls named Hiromi, Tenko, Madoka, and Maruko. He is frequently the ringleader who orchestrates elaborate schemes to disrobe or grope Machiko, plans he often hatches with his friends Kame and Kinzo. Despite this troublesome behavior, Kenta is also described as a very kind-hearted and sociable child. He is well-liked and maintains good relationships with many people, including both his male friends, among whom he is considered a leader, and his female classmates. The narrative suggests that underneath his pranks, he genuinely cares for the girls in his class, and they seem to understand this, getting along with him well when he is not actively bothering them.

Kenta's primary motivation is his strong infatuation with his teacher, Machiko, having been smitten with her since their first meeting. Most of his actions are aimed at getting her attention, and he considers it a great victory when his pranks force her to say her trademark phrase, Maicching. This dynamic is a mix of rivalry and an unconventional form of affection, and he is also prone to jealousy when Machiko interacts with other men. His role in the story is that of a primary instigator. The majority of the episodic plots are driven by his antics, to which the patient Machiko usually responds with grace rather than anger, turning away and striking a pose. He holds a strong influence in his class, often acting as its representative. He possesses a courageous and confident nature, not being afraid to face challenges or devise strategies to solve problems, sometimes surprising others with his successful plans.

Kenta's key relationships are central to the narrative. His most significant relationship is with Machiko Mai, his teacher. While he constantly subjects her to harassment, her tolerance of his behavior frames it as spoiled affection, though she does enforce strict boundaries and has been known to punish him when he goes too far, such as when he bullied a new student. In one notable instance, his mother was brought to the school to discipline him publicly for showing inappropriate photos. He is the leader of a disruptive trio that includes his friends Kame and Kinzo, and he generally gets along well with his entire class, including the athletic Madoka, who considers him a fellow sports student, and Maruko, who has an unrequited crush on him. At home, his strict mother is shown to punish his misbehavior, though her efforts have limited effect on his impulsiveness.

Over the course of the series, Kenta shows small signs of depth and the potential for development. Beneath his troublemaking exterior, empathy occasionally surfaces, such as when he temporarily improved his behavior to prevent the vice principal from being transferred. Rare moments of self-reflection follow the consequences of his actions, hinting at a more thoughtful character beneath his comedic facade. In one episode depicting the future, he appears as an adult who has become a tall, handsome teacher at Arama Middle School.

Kenta possesses several notable abilities. He is not depicted as being good at studying. In contrast, he demonstrates incredible athleticism across a wide range of sports, including running, dodgeball, swimming, skating, wrestling, tennis, and frisbee. His favorite sport is skateboarding, and he also enjoys biking. He is clever and uses his sharp creativity to devise and execute his various schemes, celebrating a successful prank with the triumphant motto Daiseiko. He is also not above using disguises, including wearing women's clothing, to further his plans.
