Description
Inagu is a young girl who appears in a cold, snowy mountain village where a mysterious illness has been affecting the locals. She is introduced when Ginko, a Mushi master, arrives in the village to investigate, and she guides him to her uncle's house because her uncle has been sick for a considerable time with an illness that normal medicine cannot cure.

Inagu's personal situation is deeply intertwined with the village's ritual traditions. Her mother was chosen as the annual sacrifice to appease a dangerous mushi, a ritual meant to protect the village from the creature's deadly powers. However, Inagu's mother refused to go through with the sacrifice, an act of defiance that the village elder believes may have provoked the mushi to take revenge on the community. This places Inagu at the center of the village's crisis, as she is the daughter of the person who broke the ritual cycle.

As the story progresses, Inagu herself goes missing, leading Ginko to suspect she may have been taken to serve as a replacement sacrifice for the mushi. Her disappearance drives the latter part of the investigation, culminating in Ginko searching for her. He eventually finds a strange cave containing a hidden world where the mushi resides in its true form as a massive, writhing mass of energy that feeds on life force. Inagu's role in the narrative is primarily as a catalyst for the conflict, representing the innocent party caught in the consequences of both her mother's refusal and the village's ancient, harsh traditions.

Her key relationships are with her mother, the chosen sacrifice who defied the village, and her uncle, whose illness draws Ginko to the village in the first place. In terms of personality, she demonstrates a willingness to help others by taking Ginko to her uncle, and she is portrayed as a child whose fate becomes uncertain and dire due to the supernatural and social forces around her. No information is available regarding any notable abilities she possesses, her personal motivations beyond the immediate events, or any significant character development she undergoes throughout the episode.
