Description
Natsuko Yuki is a minor character who appears in the sixteenth episode of the first season of Jigoku Shōjo, titled A Night Among Traveling Entertainers. She is a member of a traveling circus troupe. Her background is primarily defined by her role in the circus and her relationship with a fellow performer named Yumi, who is subjected to ongoing mistreatment. Natsuko Yuki’s personality is characterized by cruelty and jealousy; she actively participates in the bullying and psychological torment of Yumi, often alongside the ringmaster. Her motivations stem from a desire to assert dominance and to maintain her position within the group, as she appears to derive satisfaction from Yumi’s suffering. In the story, she functions as one of the antagonists whose actions drive Yumi to seek revenge through the Hell Correspondence website. Natsuko Yuki’s key relationships are with Yumi, the primary victim, and the ringmaster, who also abuses Yumi. The ringmaster physically whips Yumi and locks her up, while Natsuko adds to the emotional abuse. The episode follows Yumi’s eventual decision to pull the red string, demanding that Natsuko Yuki be sent to Hell. As part of the Hell Girl’s judgment, Natsuko Yuki is confronted by Ai Enma’s assistants, who taunt her and force her to perform humiliating circus tricks, such as riding a unicycle, before she is ultimately dragged into the abyss. She does not exhibit any supernatural abilities; her notable trait is her role as a catalyst for the episode’s moral lesson about the consequences of cruelty. There is no significant development for Natsuko Yuki beyond her fate, as she appears only as a one-episode antagonist. Her appearance is that of a young woman with brown hair worn to neck length and brown eyes, and she typically wears circus attire.
