Description
Daisuke Danda is a young man who serves as one of the Oni, or sound warriors, working for the Kanto branch of the organization Takeshi in his ongoing battle against monstrous creatures known as the Makamou. He is the human identity who transforms into Kamen Rider Danki, a name that translates to Bullet Demon. His birth date is recorded as July 24, 1979, and his stated age in the series is approximately twenty-five to twenty-six years old.

In his everyday life, Daisuke Danda presents a personality that is somewhat short-tempered and rough around the edges. He has a pragmatic and direct approach to his duties as a monster hunter. True to his candid nature, he is notably bad with information technology, even more so than some of his colleagues, and has little patience for computers or mobile phones. He is known to have neglected a broken communication PC and has been seen using a public telephone to contact headquarters, as he does not carry a cell phone. Despite his outwardly brash and cheeky attitude, he holds a deep and genuine respect for his senior colleague, Hibiki, whom he looks up to as an elder brother figure and regards as a model Oni.

The primary motivation for Daisuke is the fulfillment of his duties as a protector of humanity, a role he takes on with a sense of blunt professionalism. As a member of Takeshi, his role in the story is that of a supporting warrior. He is one of the eleven active Oni in the Kanto region, and his appearances often serve to expand the viewer's understanding of the wider organization beyond its main characters. His most notable involvement in the plot occurs when he and his close friend, the Oni known as Shouki, volunteer to test a new experimental weapon called the Armed Saber, developed by the researcher Kounosuke Kogure. The test goes wrong, and the weapon’s waves cause both Danki and Shouki to lose their ability to transform for almost a month. When he and Shouki complain about the incident to the branch chief, blaming Kogure for their predicament, the inventor overhears them and furiously chases the pair out of the headquarters with a paddle.

His key relationships include his friendship with Shouki, with whom he shares a strong bond, though it is noted that they rarely visit the Tachibana sweet shop headquarters together. His most significant relationship is with Hibiki; he is a Taiko drum specialist like Hibiki and deeply admires him, speaking to him in a very casual and familiar tone that underscores their closeness. While Daisuke does not undergo a dramatic personal arc, his experience with the Armed Saber incident demonstrates his resilience. He and Shouki are left without options after the experiment, but after a period of time, the side effect wears off and he successfully recovers his ability to transform, allowing him to continue his fight against the Makamou.

As Kamen Rider Danki, his notable abilities center on his transformation into a being that is considered his true demon form, rather than a suit of armor. He uses a tuning fork-like device called the Henshin Onsa Onkaku to strike a special sound wave that initiates his change. In this Oni form, Danki has a black body with blue markings on his hands and face, a single gold horn on his forehead, and a silver rose-like decoration on his armor. His fighting style is characterized by the use of a rock attribute and he is skilled in close-quarters combat, utilizing his exceptional jumping power and quickness. His primary weapons are a pair of drumsticks called the Ongekibou Nachiguro, which he uses to perform purification sound strikes known as Ongeki. These finishers include attacks named Ongeki Da Hasai Sazareishi and Ongeki Da Funkotsu Saishin, which translate to concepts of crushing and smashing. He also has the ability to sense the presence of Makamou through their evil aura and employs small, disk-shaped support robots called Disk Animals to aid him in reconnaissance and combat.
