Description
Kamen Rider Eiki is an Oni, a type of warrior who fights monstrous creatures known as Makamou, operating under the organization Takeshi in the Kantō region of Japan. His chosen name, Eiki, translates to Sharp Demon, signifying his identity and purpose as a supernatural fighter. He was once an ordinary human with a common name before becoming associated with Takeshi and training as an apprentice to an older Oni, eventually earning the right to transform and take on his new name. Unlike many of his peers, Eiki has not yet been assigned a supporter and tends to operate alone, without any disciples or partners, often being assigned to guard the mountains of Japan.

In terms of personality, Eiki is portrayed as a capable and dedicated, if somewhat unfortunate, warrior. He is known to have a playful side, occasionally making jokes based on his name. After recovering from a severe injury, he quipped that a good night's sleep had restored his eiki, a Japanese word meaning high spirits that sounds identical to his name. This suggests a resilient and lighthearted nature despite the dangers he faces. He is also described as someone who makes an effort to look good, indicating a sense of pride in his appearance as an Oni.

Eiki plays a supporting role in the larger narrative of the Makamou conflicts. He is a member of the wider group of Oni active during the summer of 2005. His most significant appearance occurs during an incident involving a giant spider-type Makamou known as a Tsuchigumo. Following rumors of strange activity, Eiki investigates Kayanoki Mountain where he discovers the creature. His initial solo attempt to exterminate it goes poorly, as he is overwhelmed by the Tsuchigumo's attendants, the Douji and Hime. They demonstrate superior tactics in the confined quarry space, stabbing him in the leg and knocking one of his weapons away. Forced to retreat, he is struck by a thrown weapon and falls from a cliff into a river below.

Despite this severe setback, Eiki is rescued by local mountain folk who contact Takeshi. He spends the night with them and, thanks to his Oni healing factor, manages to recover from his leg injury by the next morning. He demonstrates resilience by immediately returning to the fight. He rejoins other Oni, including Ibuki and Todoroki, just in time to save Todoroki from being devoured. Fighting alongside them, Eiki proves to be a valuable ally, using his techniques to help defeat the Douji and damage the Tsuchigumo before the primary Oni, Hibiki, arrives to deliver the final blow. This event highlights his role as a dependable, if not always victorious, frontline warrior who is willing to cooperate with other Oni to overcome a common threat.

Eiki's key relationships are primarily professional, defined by his affiliation with Takeshi. He communicates with the organization's headquarters, Tachibana Sweet Place, to report his findings and suspicions about Makamou activity. He fights alongside several other Oni, including Ibuki, Todoroki, and Hibiki, showing a sense of camaraderie and mutual reliance in battle. He notably lacks a close personal bond with a disciple or a supporter, setting him apart from some of the more central characters and reinforcing his image as a solitary figure. His development is subtle, seen in his perseverance and ability to learn from a near-fatal encounter, returning to battle with renewed determination rather than letting his defeat break his spirit.

As an Oni, Eiki's transformed state is not a suit but his true demonic form. In this form, his body is light brown, while his arms and the lines on his face are a bluish-green or turquoise color. He possesses a secondary golden oni face on his torso, similar to that of Kamen Rider Ibuki. He is noted for being physically smaller than many other Oni, standing over forty centimeters shorter than some of his comrades. His transformation is achieved using a device called the Henshin Onsa, a tuning fork.

Eiki's combat abilities are primarily fire-based. He wields a pair of drumsticks known as the Ongekibou Rokushou, which serve as his weapons. He also carries a taiko-style drum buckle called the Ongekiko Hakuryoku, which he uses to unleash his finishing attack, the Ongeki Da: Hissatsu Hitchū no Kata, a sound-based purification strike that defeats Makamou. For direct combat, he can extend nearly unbreakable claws from his hands using a technique called Kitōjutsu: Onizume, or Demon Claw. His signature special move is Kibōjutsu: Rekkadan, or Raging Fire Bullet, which allows him to ignite the tips of his drumsticks and launch fireballs at his enemies. He also has the ability to sense the evil presence of a Makamou when he is close to one. For transportation, he rides a silver-colored Honda CR-V.
