Description
Kamen Rider Shouki is a character from the television series Kamen Rider Hibiki, known as an Oni who operates in the Kanto region of Japan. His name, Shouki, translates to Victorious Demon, and like other Oni, he has given up his real name to assume this identity. He is a 27-year-old male who serves as the partner of another Oni, Kamen Rider Danki. Together, they are assigned to protect the outskirts of the Kanto area.
In terms of his role within the story, Shouki is a supporting figure whose presence is notably limited. He was among the Oni featured in the series second opening theme song and appears only once in the television series itself. His motivations are aligned with his duty as an Oni, which is to combat monstrous creatures known as Makamou and protect humanity. Despite his commitment, a significant event in his background reveals a moment of failure. He once attempted to use a powerful weapon called the Armed Saber, but because he lacked sufficient strength, the attempt resulted in him losing the ability to transform for nearly a month.
Physically, Kamen Rider Shouki's Oni form is his true form, as he does not wear a suit like some other characters. He stands approximately 209 centimeters tall and weighs 150 kilograms. His appearance is characterized by a black demonic body with purple hands and facial lines, and he possesses a second Oni face that manifests as a crest on his forehead. His body armor is silver and shares a pattern with the armor of Kamen Rider Ibuki, while his mask design mirrors that of his partner, Kamen Rider Danki.
In combat, Shouki is identified as a wind-based fighter who excels in close-quarters combat. He is equipped with several tools to aid him in battle. His transformation device is a flute whistle known as the Henshin Onibue. For his Ongeki, or sound attack, he uses a trumpet-like buckle called the Ongekimei Fusoku and a sousaphone-type weapon named the Ongekikan Taifu. His primary melee weapons are long claws on both arms, referred to as Kagizume Fuga. He also deploys small, disc-shaped support robots called Disk Animals, which include a lion, snake, and eagle motif. His designated Ongeki Finisher is named Ongekisha Bofuikki, which translates to Sound Attack Shoot Storm Single Spirit, though the technique is never shown on screen.
