Description
Jun Guevaru (also romanized Jun Guevara) is a fictional character from a manga series, reimagining the historical revolutionary as an alternate universe South American martial artist in his mid-twenties to thirties. He possesses shoulder-length black hair, a bandana, and a muscular build, typically wearing army green attire or prison clothes when incarcerated, occasionally applying war paint for combat.

Imprisoned in Arizona State Prison, Guevaru holds the status of "free man" alongside Biscuit Oliva, granting him better meals and unrestricted movement due to the guards' fear. This stems from his reputation as one of the world's strongest fighters, described as "one of the three men alive more powerful than a machine gun." His incarceration resulted from breaking into the home of George Bosch (a fictionalized George W. Bush) and threatening his family after Bosch contemplated military action against Guevaru's sovereign nation, La Serna. Guevaru founded La Serna following a career as a high-seas pirate, adhering to a radical political philosophy characterized by anti-capitalism and specific anti-U.S. stances.

Guevaru's personality blends high intelligence, exceptional leadership, and extensive knowledge of natural sciences with extreme confidence, pride, and arrogance. He shares with Oliva and Yujiro Hanma an absolute certainty in his abilities and refusal to accept defeat. This discipline underpins his combat prowess, though he acknowledges a lingering immaturity in his compulsive need to prove his strength. Despite his intimidating presence, he avoids unnecessary harm; he escaped prison by digging a tunnel rather than publicly humiliating the guards by walking out the front gate.

Trained by his grandfather in Mukakure-ryu Ninjutsu (No-Cover Style of Ninjutsu), Guevaru specializes in bare-handed combat against armed opponents, capable of killing in one strike. His abilities encompass superhuman physical characteristics, body control, and enhanced senses—including detecting winds hundreds of miles away—alongside using his hair as natural needles. Notable techniques include the Harite (a sumo-style clap rupturing eardrums with air pressure) and Core Hardness for defense. He demonstrates town-level attack potency, striking strength, and durability, notably damaging and surviving full-force assaults from Biscuit Oliva. His speed ranks at least High Hypersonic, enabling him to blitz opponents like Baki Hanma alongside Oliva.

Within Arizona State Prison, Guevaru defeated a sumo wrestler in the cafeteria and sports hall, incapacitated three members of the Mouth gang, and challenged Oliva to a central arena fight. He withstood several of Oliva's punches but ultimately lost the bout. His narrative role extends beyond physical confrontations, symbolizing the twentieth-century ideological clash between communism and capitalism through his conflict with Oliva.

Following his defeat, Guevaru returned to his homeland. His legacy includes appearing on La Serna's banknotes, reinforcing his identity as a foundational revolutionary. His physical stats are estimated at 5'8"–5'10" and 220–280 lbs, reflecting dense musculature comparable to top-tier fighters.
