Description
Noritaka Hamazaki, commonly called Hamaji, is a third‑grade student at Irie Elementary School and a classmate of the protagonist Maruko. He is a supporting character who serves as the class clown and mood‑maker, often performing impressions and making others laugh. His hobby is mimicry, and his aspiration is to become a professional comedian. He comes from a modest household, living with his parents, a younger brother, and his grandfather Tatsu. Despite his family’s financial struggles, he is cheerful and carefree. His best friend is Bootaro, and he is also close with Yamada, treating them like younger siblings because he is used to caring for his own brother. He frequently spends time with Maruko, and the two share an easy camaraderie due to their similarly playful and impulsive natures. In appearance, Hamaji has black hair cut into bangs, noticeable lips, and pointed teeth. His birthday is August 20, and his blood type is B. He is known for his energetic and sometimes mischievous personality, though he is generally kind‑hearted and reliable when needed. While he does not have a romantic interest in his class, he once developed a crush on a girl he met during a summer festival. Over the course of the series, his role remains consistent as a source of comic relief and a loyal friend, without significant character development. His notable ability is his talent for impersonations, which he often showcases to entertain his classmates.
