Description
Haruhiko Mitamura is a character from the 2005 film. He is a young man who has been a long-term patient at Midoriyama General Hospital. His time in the hospital has been marked by loneliness, as he has no visitors and feels abandoned, which drives him to a state of deep pessimism and even desperation.
His personality changes dramatically when he meets Miyoko Harada, a fellow patient who is also coping with a serious illness. Through their friendship, which quickly deepens into a romantic relationship, he finds a new sense of purpose and a reason to live. His motivation becomes entirely centered on Miyoko, and his greatest desire is to be with her and see her recover. This love is the driving force behind his later actions.

A distinct feature is the tentacle on the back of his head, which is removable and can be used by his partner, Snake, as a whip.
