Description
Shifu Chōshō presents as an elderly woman within the form of a young girl, sporting long black hair, orange eyes, and ornate kimonos. She presides over the Hyakukeitō: five legendary Chinese jian swords forged by Cao Cao, embedded within a boulder on her property. Sealed by chi energy, these blades remain impossible to remove without her direct intervention.

Her primary role involves training formidable fighters who seek the Hyakukeitō. Her trainees include Chuuei Toutaku, Unchou Kan-u, Shimei Ryomou, and Hakufu Sonsaku, the last recorded student. During Chuuei Toutaku's training, he succumbed to uncontrollable rage after Chōshō critiqued his perceived weakness. Hakufu Sonsaku intervened in the ensuing incident, leaping from a cliff in an attempt to rescue Chōshō but falling unconscious. While Hakufu remained unconscious, Chōshō transferred an unspecified gift to her via a kiss; the nature and consequences of this act remain undefined.

Chōshō embodies wisdom and possesses extensive knowledge, having instructed and mentored many of the world's most powerful fighters. Her guidance transcends physical combat, encompassing philosophical and tactical advice. She once counseled Shimei Ryomou on perceived weaknesses after a sparring session, directing her to recuperate in hot springs.

Her fate differs between continuities: deceased in the manga, yet alive and actively mentoring in the anime. She notably appeared training Ryomou in *Great Guardians*. Her background, origins, or specific appearances in *Shin Ikki Tousen*, other OVAs, or spin-off media remain undocumented. Her documented interactions focus exclusively on the Hyakukeitō and her trainees.
