Description
Kiriha Kisaki serves as a member of the Taishikyoku, holding the position of Six Blade Priestess tasked with combating supernatural threats and disasters. Her initial engagements place her in opposition to central figures, though her role evolves significantly through various events. She operates under the designation "Black Sword Shaman," reflecting her mastery over demonic energy channeled through her unique double-pronged spear, Richel Carle. This weapon allows her to replicate abilities, such as duplicating Sayaka Kirasaka's Koukarin protective barrier magic and employing Yume Eguchi's mind control techniques to manipulate others. Richel Carle also enables her to deploy violet energy beams known as Dark Beam.

Her capabilities extend beyond the spear, encompassing shikigami summoning—typically manifested as panthers for messaging or alert purposes—and a repertoire of incantation-based techniques. These include Pulsation, amplifying magic effects when applied directly to an opponent; Burning Thunder, releasing fire into the surrounding environment; Resonant Thunder, enhancing physical prowess to incapacitate targets; Young Lightning; and an invisibility chant.

Physically, Kiriha possesses long black hair, distinctive pink eyes, and a noted figure. She is consistently attired in a black school uniform and stockings. Her demeanor blends calmness with a belligerent edge, often engaging in teasing behavior directed at Kojou Akatsuki, exemplified by instances like wearing a bikini to share a hot spring with him to deliberately provoke reactions.

Her narrative involvement includes leaking critical information about Nagisa Akatsuki's location to Kojou and Yukina Himeragi during a rescue operation in Volume 11. She subsequently aids their escape from Itogami Island, resulting in a confrontation with Natsuki Minamiya where she defends Yukina. Though initially antagonistic toward both Kojou and Yukina, her role shifts to that of an ally and friend following these events. Her relationship with Yume Eguchi remains less defined but is connected through the replicated abilities.

The etymology of her name indicates "Kiriha" translates to "fog, mist" (霧) combined with "leaf" (葉), while her surname "Kisaki" derives from "princess" (妃) and "cape, peninsula" (崎). She appears consistently across all seasons and OVAs, including the final series, maintaining her established abilities and affiliations without significant deviation or expansion of her background.
