Description
Mana Kazaya is a young woman living with her uncle, Yoshihiko Misugi, following the death of her father, Nobuyuki Kazaya, two years prior to the events of the story. She is a high school student, often described as having a sweet and naive personality, giving her the appearance of an ordinary teenage girl. However, Mana possesses a seed of Agito, a latent power that manifests as psychic abilities. Her primary supernatural talent is psychometry, the ability to read the history and emotions tied to objects or people through touch, which initially presents as clairvoyance. She is also shown to have the potential for resurrection. Mana's personal journey is heavily defined by her grief over her father's death and her fear of her own growing powers. She becomes deeply unsettled by the possibility that she may have unconsciously caused her father's death, a suspicion that torments her throughout the story and causes her abilities to spiral out of control at times. Within the special, she is a supporting figure connected to the central cast. She lives with Shouichi Tsugami, the protagonist who is secretly Kamen Rider Agito, and she is among the first to discover his true identity, acting as an emotional anchor for him during his struggles with amnesia. This bond between her and Shouichi forms a key relationship built on mutual support and a deep, often psychic, understanding. She also shares a connection with Ryo Ashihara, Kamen Rider Gills, whom she is able to heal using her powers, and her abilities draw the attention of police officer Makoto Hikawa, who learns of her special nature early on. Her development revolves around coming to terms with her abilities and her role as a psychic in a world threatened by the monstrous Unknown. She never transforms into a Rider but serves as a human anchor to the series' supernatural mythology, representing the potential for human evolution and the emotional weight of wielding such a power.
