Description
Kazuma Kenzaki is the protagonist of the alternate story presented in Kamen Rider Blade: Missing Ace. He is a young man who was recruited by the research organization B.O.A.R.D. to become Kamen Rider Blade, using the sealed Category Ace of Spades to transform and fight against the Undead. In this alternate timeline, Kenzaki was forced to seal Hajime Aikawa, who is the Joker Undead, marking a decisive and painful end to the original Undead Battle Royale.
Following this event, Kenzaki retired from being a Rider and attempted to live a quiet, ordinary life. Four years later, he is working as a garbage man, a humble job that contrasts sharply with his past as a warrior. However, when a new threat emerges in the form of the Albino Joker, who releases half of the Undead back into the world, Kenzaki is drawn out of retirement. Witnessing the arrival of a new generation of Riders from the revived B.O.A.R.D., he is compelled to take up the mantle of Blade once more after his Category Ace card is resealed by Mutsuki, the user of Kamen Rider Leangle. His decision to fight again is driven by his innate sense of justice and a deep-seated need to protect people, a core trait that defines him. While his personality in the original series is friendly and cheerful, this alternate version shows a slightly more devious side, humorously attempting to steal from his now-wealthy friend, Kotarō Shirai.
In the story of Missing Ace, Kenzaki's primary motivation is to save the world from the Albino Joker and the ancient evil god Jashin 14. A key driving force is his relationship with Amane Kurihara, a young girl who had become a delinquent due to the emotional void left by Hajime's disappearance. When the Albino Joker seals Amane into a Void Card to revive Jashin 14, Kenzaki is desperate to save her. His bond with Hajime, the very Joker he was forced to seal, remains his most significant relationship. In a desperate attempt to rescue Amane, Kenzaki asks Mutsuki to unseal the Joker, bringing Hajime back. The deep, tragic connection between them is highlighted at the story's climax when Hajime pushes Kenzaki out of the way to be sacrificed in his place, forcing Kenzaki to once again seal his friend to weaken the monstrous Jashin 14. He also interacts with the new generation of B.O.A.R.D. Riders—Glaive, Larc, and Lance—and his former comrade Sakuya Tachibana, who now leads the organization. His role is that of the experienced, original hero who must set aside his past trauma to correct the mistakes of a new crisis, even at great personal cost.
As Kamen Rider Blade, Kenzaki possesses a variety of powerful forms and abilities. His default transformation is Ace Form, a melee-oriented form that allows him to use Rouze Cards to enhance his capabilities and perform special attacks such as Lightning Blast and Lightning Sonic. He can access the flying Jack Form, which grants him golden reinforced armor and wings by harnessing the power of the Eagle Undead. His ultimate form is the formidable King Form, achieved by using the Evolution Caucasus Rouze Card. In this form, his body is clad in golden armor created from all of his Spades Suit Rouze Cards. King Form grants him immense power, allowing him to wield the King Rouzer and to activate card abilities directly from his armor, though it comes at a cost to agility. It is in this form that Kenzaki is able to defeat the weakened Jashin 14 and the Albino Joker, bringing the battle to an end. Throughout the film, Kenzaki’s development reflects a man burdened by his past choices who is forced to reconcile with his identity as a Rider, ultimately finding the strength to fight again for the sake of others’ futures.
