Live-Action TV
Description
Amane Kurihara is the daughter of Haruka Kurihara, who runs a café called Jakaranda, and the niece of Kotaro Shirai. As a young girl around nine or ten years old, she is outspoken and often rude, especially toward her uncle, but she is consistently kind and warm to Hajime Aikawa, a mysterious man who comes to live and work at the café. Her unconditional acceptance of Hajime, who is later revealed to be the Joker Undead, serves as an emotional anchor for him and helps him understand human connections. Four years after the conclusion of the television series, a thirteen-year-old Amane appears in a subsequent film. Heartbroken over Hajime’s disappearance, she has become a sukeban, a female delinquent and gang leader, acting out through petty crimes. Her father previously unsealed the powerful being known as the Giant Reaper Fortin, and because she inherited her father’s blood, she becomes a target for antagonists who need her as a key to activate ancient powers. Her lingering feelings for Hajime drive her to search for him, and he ultimately rescues her. Years later as an adult, Amane still works at the family café, holding onto her memories of Hajime. Her powerful attachment is manipulated by another character, leading to her unwilling transformation into Another Blade, a monstrous version of the original Rider with abilities such as firing energy blasts, generating dark energy for attacks, absorbing the power of the Joker Undead, summoning a large monolith known as the Stone of Sealing, and wielding a corrupted version of a signature weapon called the Another Blay Rouzer.
