Description
Kazuya Oki is a man of strong will and clear purpose, defined by his ambition to reach the stars and his unwavering commitment to justice. Before becoming a cyborg, he was a highly skilled martial artist and a member of the International Space Development Program (ISDP) in the United States, driven by the lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut. Unlike many other heroes in his tradition who are forcibly transformed against their will, Kazuya volunteered for the cybernetic surgery that would turn him into a being capable of surviving the harsh environment of outer space without the need for a bulky suit. His motivation was purely peaceful and aspirational: to expand humanity's reach into the cosmos.

After a successful operation, he was given the codename Super-1. However, before he could embark on his space mission, the research laboratory was attacked by the evil Dogma Kingdom. The attack resulted in the deaths of the scientists who had helped him, leaving Kazuya as the sole survivor. This tragedy shifted his focus from exploration to revenge. Consumed by a desire to avenge his fallen friends, he returned to Japan and sought out his old martial arts instructor, Master Genkai. Under Genkai's tutelage, Kazuya mastered the Sincere Shaolin Fist, a discipline that not only honed his combat abilities but also allowed him to unlock the full potential of his cyborg body and perform the transformation into Kamen Rider Super-1.

Personality-wise, Kazuya is described as a hardworking and strong-headed individual. He possesses a bright and positive disposition, standing in contrast to earlier characters who often struggled with the loss of their humanity. Even when driven by a thirst for vengeance, he never lost his innate sense of justice, always stopping to protect the innocent. This moral core makes him a reliable and heroic figure. Despite his serious mission, he also shows a sometimes naive and foolish side, which adds a layer of warmth to his character. However, his fundamental seriousness is reflected in his intense dedication to training and self-improvement, which allows him to overcome immense pain and adversity.

In the story, Kazuya first battles the Dogma Kingdom, the organization that destroyed his colleagues. After defeating them, he immediately faces a new threat called the Jin Dogma, a more bizarre and lighthearted evil group whose monsters are based on everyday household objects. Throughout his journey, he forms key relationships. He is aided by Professor Henry, the scientist who helped develop his systems, and a team of supporters including Genjiro Tani and the Junior Riders. His relationship with Master Genkai is particularly significant, as the master's teachings and eventual death at the hands of the enemy serve as a major catalyst for Kazuya's growth and determination. Later, in crossover events, Kazuya stands alongside other legendary warriors, showing respect and camaraderie as a veteran hero.

As a character, Kazuya develops from an aspiring astronaut into a seasoned warrior. He fulfills his initial need for revenge but does not let it consume him. Instead, he dedicates himself to protecting Earth from multiple threats and eventually achieves his original, peaceful dream of venturing into outer space with a new team of scientists. A notable aspect of his development is his mastery over his own transformation. Initially, he required external assistance or a computer to transform into Super-1, but through rigorous mental and physical training, he learned to initiate the change by his own will alone.

As Kamen Rider Super-1, Kazuya possesses a range of remarkable abilities rooted in his design as a space exploration cyborg. He is highly resistant to extreme temperatures, magic, and sorcery. His primary combat tools are the Five Hands, interchangeable gloves that grant him different powers. The default Super Hands allow for powerful punches, while the red Power Hands grant immense lifting strength. The blue Elec Hands can channel high-voltage electricity, and the green Thermal Hands allow him to fire flames from his right hand and freezing gas from his left. The gold Radar Hands can launch missiles for tracking or attack. He is also equipped with an internal anti-gravity device, which allows him to leap great heights and perform his signature Super Rider Moon Kick with devastating effect. Despite his immense power, Kazuya has a unique and significant weakness: his cyborg body requires regular maintenance using a machine called the Check Machine. If he fights for extended periods without repairs, his powers will gradually wane. He also rides specialized motorcycles, including the V-Machine, which can transform into a jet, and the off-road Blue Version.
