Description
Kōmori-Furanken is a cyborg monster created by the secret organization G.O.D. (Government of Darkness) for the express purpose of defeating Kamen Rider X. He was conceived by the organization’s new leader, King Dark, who ordered his scientists to analyze the combat data of Kamen Rider X and produce an enemy capable of surpassing him in every respect. The design fuses the form of a bat with that of a Frankenstein‑style artificial human, resulting in a hulking, winged humanoid.

Personality‑wise, Kōmori‑Furanken is depicted as vicious and reckless. Immediately after his creation, he attempts to test‑fire the heavy cannon mounted on his back, aiming at the scientists who had just completed him, showing a complete lack of restraint or gratitude. He carries out his orders with brutal efficiency and shows no hesitation in using innocent people as resources; he requires the blood of young women to sustain his energy, and he kidnaps them to support himself.

His primary motivation is to serve King Dark and execute the “Tokyo Karakara Operation,” a plan to drain all water in Tokyo and throw the city into chaos. To this end, Kōmori‑Furanken leads a group of revived monsters, each deployed across the city to cause destruction and gather victims. He is the central field commander of G.O.D.’s forces in the film.

In the story, he first appears after King Dark has completed him, and he is immediately sent to confront Kamen Rider X. Using his flight ability and his back‑mounted cannon, he attacks X from the air, keeping the rider at a disadvantage. X manages to drive him off with the Cruiser Attack, forcing Kōmori‑Furanken to retreat and regroup. Later, as the five Riders—Kamen Rider 1, Kamen Rider 2, Kamen Rider V3, Riderman, and Kamen Rider X—assemble to stop G.O.D.’s plans, Kōmori‑Furanken and his regenerated monster army meet them in battle at G.O.D.’s hideout, the Castle of Strange Rocks. During the final confrontation, Kamen Rider 1 and Kamen Rider 2’s combined Rider Kick tears off one of his wings, and he is ultimately destroyed by the five Riders’ joint attack, the X Rider Super Five Kick.

Key relationships place him as a direct subordinate of King Dark, the film’s main villain, and as the primary physical obstacle for the five Riders. He leads a motley squad of revived monsters, including figures such as Genghis‑Khan Condor and Gama‑Goemon, but these serve under his command rather than as equals.

Development‑wise, Kōmori‑Furanken undergoes no moral or emotional arc; he is a weapon built for a single purpose. However, his initial success against X establishes him as a credible threat, and his eventual defeat by the combined might of the five Riders underscores the theme of unity overcoming overwhelming power.

Notable abilities include powered flight via large bat‑like wings attached to his arms, a heavy cannon embedded in his back that can fire while he is airborne, and the power to command ordinary bats for reconnaissance and intelligence‑gathering. He is explicitly stated to surpass Kamen Rider X in all specifications, but this advantage is neutralized by the coordinated efforts of multiple Riders.
