Description
Kimaira is a monster, or kaijin, created by the secret evil organization known as the Government of Darkness, or G.O.D.. Designed to be a living weapon, this creature takes its name and inspiration from the legendary Chimera of Greek mythology, a hybrid beast typically combining a lion, goat, and serpent. In terms of physical statistics, Kimaira stands 173 centimeters tall and weighs 80 kilograms.
As a creation of G.O.D., Kimaira serves as an operative tasked with carrying out the organization's sinister objectives. Its primary motivation is to fulfill its mission for G.O.D., which in its first appearance involved kidnapping a scientist's wife and daughter. This scientist, Dr. Kawamura, was a researcher studying extrasensory perception, and G.O.D. sought to force his cooperation by abducting his family. Kimaira was the agent deployed to execute this kidnapping.
In its role within the story, Kimaira first appears as an antagonist to the hero, Kamen Rider X. After successfully taking the hostages, Kimaira confronted and initially fought off the Rider, demonstrating its strength as a formidable enemy. However, during a subsequent rematch, Kamen Rider X adapted his tactics. By covering his body with water to neutralize Kimaira’s fiery attacks, the Rider was able to land his finishing technique, the X Kick, destroying the monster in an explosion.
Kimaira’s existence did not end with its first destruction. It was later revived by Kingdark, the supreme leader of G.O.D., to fight once more. In this second life, it fought alongside other revived monsters, including Medusa and Neptune. On this occasion, the three monsters were met not only by Kamen Rider X but also by Kamen Rider V3. Kimaira was quickly defeated by V3's Rider Kick, and the chain of explosions from the three monsters ultimately destroyed them all.
Regarding its notable abilities, Kimaira possesses superhuman characteristics befitting a mythical beast. Its most prominent power is the ability to spew a powerful stream of fire from its mouth. This flame is incredibly hot, reaching temperatures of up to 10,000 degrees Celsius, and can be used not only to attack and incinerate its targets but also to create a wide-area defensive wall when spread forward. In addition to its fire breath, Kimaira is skilled at charging attacks, using the sharp horn that extends from its head to impale its enemies. It also has the capability to disguise itself as a normal human being, allowing it to move unnoticed and carry out its missions.
