Description
Minori Godai is the younger sister of Yusuke Godai, the protagonist of the series. She was born on September 4, 1977, making her twenty-two years old at the time the story begins. Her blood type is O. After the loss of their parents, she and her brother were supported by Tsubumi Sakuraba, the owner of the Pore Pore tea house, who became a father figure to them. Minori works as a nursery school teacher at Wakaba Nursery School, a profession she chose for the same reason her brother pursues his path: to bring smiles to others. She lives alone in an apartment near the nursery.

Minori has a calm and gentle demeanor, often described by her brother as looking sleepy even when she is awake. Beneath this relaxed exterior, she possesses a strong inner resolve. She is deeply grounded and represents the everyday civilian life that Yusuke dedicates himself to protecting. Her primary motivation is a quiet hope for a peaceful world where the existence of someone like Number 4 is no longer necessary, and where people can understand one another without resorting to violence.

From early in the series, Minori is aware that her brother is the warrior Kuuga, also known to the public as Unidentified Lifeform Number 4. Initially, she is apprehensive about his transformation and the danger it brings. However, because her brother has never betrayed her trust, she places absolute faith in him and comes to believe in his mission. She does not try to stop him but instead watches over him with steady concern. Her role in the story is to provide Yusuke with emotional support and moral grounding, serving as a constant reminder of the peaceful lives he is fighting to preserve. She also helps the children at her school cope with the fear caused by the Grongi attacks, maintaining a sense of normalcy and security for them.

Minori shares a close bond with her brother, Yusuke. Their relationship is built on mutual trust and care. She worries about his safety and questions his mindset at times, such as when she becomes concerned that he might be growing too comfortable with violence or taking pleasure in the fighting. These moments of doubt serve as important checks on Yusuke's humanity. She is also a good friend to Sakurako Sawa, the archaeologist who researches the ancient Linto language. The two share their concerns for Yusuke and offer each other support during difficult times.

Throughout the series, Minori does not undergo a dramatic transformation, but her quiet presence is significant. She remains a steadfast pillar of normalcy amid the escalating conflict, and her unwavering belief in her brother helps him stay connected to the values he fights for. Her development is subtle, centering on her growing understanding of the weight her brother carries and her resolve to support him from her own place in the world.

Minori has no combat abilities or supernatural powers. Her notable strength lies in her emotional intelligence, her capacity for empathy, and her dedication to nurturing children. Her ability to maintain calm and provide reassurance, even in the face of widespread fear, makes her an important source of stability for those around her.
