Her primary role in the organization is that of a communications operator, responsible for relaying the movements of the unidentified lifeforms to field investigators and occasionally assisting in selecting explosive demolition points during operations. Originally from Kyoto, she moved to Tokyo with the aspiration of becoming an actress. During her early days in the city, she stayed at a coffee shop named Pore Pore and helped out around the establishment.

Sasayama’s personality is marked by a lively and occasionally impulsive demeanor. She develops a strong, open infatuation with Yusuke Godai upon first meeting him at Pore Pore, to the point where she jokingly declares herself the number-one member of the Yusuke Godai fan club. This admiration manifests as playful flirting and a lighthearted rivalry with Godai’s other supporters. Her relationship with her uncle, Kazara Tamasaburo, who is involved in the investigation, is characterized by a somewhat cold or teasing dynamic.

Over time, her experience working alongside Detective Kaoru Ichijo, who approaches his duties with great seriousness and integrity, causes her to re-evaluate her own conduct as a police officer. Witnessing Ichijo’s dedication inspires her to become more committed and professional in her work. Despite her personal feelings, she remains a capable and reliable support member, accurately tracking battlefield situations and providing critical information to both Ichijo and Godai during engagements with the Grongi.
