Description
Me-Biran-Gi, officially designated by the police as Unidentified Life Form Number 23, is a member of the Gurongi tribe belonging to the Ma caste and appears in Kamen Rider Kuuga. It is a piranha-based monster with adaptations that make it a formidable aquatic and terrestrial predator. Its body allows it to swim freely and swiftly in water while also moving at phenomenal speed on land. The creature possesses extraordinarily developed jaw muscles capable of opening and closing its mouth approximately two hundred times per minute, and its sharp fangs can bite through concrete walls. Its arms are outfitted with hook-shaped cutters strong enough to peel the hide of fellow Gurongi and even scratch the armor of Kuuga in his Mighty form.
As a Gurongi, Me-Biran-Gi participates in the murderous game known as the Gegeru, which involves killing humans to advance in rank and ultimately challenge the N tribe for leadership. Its specific motivation within the game is to claim kills, and it is naturally attracted to the scent of blood. In the main narrative of Kamen Rider Kuuga, Me-Biran-Gi intervenes during a battle between Kuuga and another Gurongi named Zu-Zain-Da, stealing the latter's turn by targeting construction workers. The police and Yusuke Godai, Kuuga's human host, lure the monster using artificial blood poured into the Arakawa River. This draws Me-Biran-Gi out, and it is ultimately destroyed by Kuuga's Dragon Form while using the Splash Dragon finisher.
In an alternate world featured in Kamen Rider Decade, Me-Biran-Gi appears as one of the leading Gurongi overseeing the revival of the Gurongi leader Gamio, working alongside Go-Bemiu-Gi. In that timeline, it is destroyed by Kuuga's Mighty Kick when it attempts to interfere in the battle between Kuuga and Decade. Me-Biran-Gi does not display a distinct personality or developed arc beyond its role as a dangerous predator driven by the Gurongi instinct to hunt and kill. Its key relationships are limited to its Gurongi peers and its adversarial encounters with Kuuga and the police. Its notable abilities include high-speed movement on land and water, powerful biting attacks, and the use of arm-mounted cutters for slashing.
